Set in tranquil countryside, yet just 5 kilometres from the market town of Lauzun, this beautifully restored farmhouse and converted barn has an 11 X 5m tiled swimming pool, There are 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large shady terrace, a huge sitting room, and a kitchen with all mod cons.
Set in a third of an acre, the house and fenced pool are totally private and a perfect venue for a family holiday, or just a group of friends getting together.
Bonnet is a charming farmhouse which we have lovingly restored, keeping its character with a mass of beams and stonework. The rooms are all a good size, so there is plenty of room for 12 people, everything is in good working order, and if there is ever a little hiccup, we are only 10 minutes away to deal with it immediately.
There is a dining room that opens out on to the terrace at one end, and which steps down at the other end to a fitted kitchen with oak cupboards.
The kitchen is well equipped, and has both a dishwasher and washing machine, and a large fridge/freezer and microwave, as well as a seperate fridge for drinks.
The large sitting room has a wealth of beams and stonework, and french windows leading directly out on to the garden and the swimming pool.
There is a flatscreen tv which receives English satellite, as well as a dvd player, and a wireless connexion to the Internet is freely available at Bonnet.
New for 2018 is a games room with a pool table, converted from an old wine chez.
Bonnet has six bedrooms.
There are three double bedrooms all with a king size bed, the first double has an en suite bathroom which has a shower, lavatory and washbasin.
The second double bedroom has french windows (well they would be wouldn't they?) that lead out on to the garden and the swimming pool, and the third double has loads of beams and character.
The other bedrooms are as follows:
There is one which has 3 single beds, another which has 2 single beds, and the third is a smaller bedroom with one single bed.
The three bathrooms are fully tiled, two with a shower, and one with a bath.
They all have lavatories.
Electric central heating.
There are many Chateaux to visit, wine tasting, horse riding in the next village, and we are surrounded by the best selection of very reasonably priced restaurants you will find anywhere.
The Bastides (fortified towns) of Monpazier, Villereal and Monflanquin are not to be missed, and the magnificent Chateau de Biron has guided tours.
Other activities include canoeing on the Dordogne, (always a big hit with our guests!), Ten Pin Bowling at Bergerac, Two 18 hole and two 9 hole golf courses within 30 minutes (the well known golf course Chateau De Vigier is 45 minutes away). Aerial walkways through the trees, with different courses for different levels at Lacapelle de Biron 25 minutes away, Paintball, and Go Kart racing in Bergerac.
All the towns in the area have a market on different days (some evening markets too) where our guests love to potter around, so whichever day of the week it is there is always somewhere different to visit, stop for a coffee and watch the world go by.
There is a large shady garden where you will find a table tennis, and a terrace which connects to the dining room and kitchen.
The property has an 11 X 5 meter tiled swimming pool with steps leading down in to the pool, which is securely fenced to protect small children.
There is ample parking for 5 cars.
Not suitable for wheelchairs.
We have lived in France for 28 years making sure our guests have the best holiday imaginable all summer long and in the winter we love to ski in the Pyrenees.

Canoeing at Casseneuil 30 minutes from Bonnet
We had a fantastic time at Bonnet, the house is huge and more than enough room for all of us. The outside seating area is brilliant and the pool was everything we needed. The grounds are lovely and you're so remote that the screaming (with fun!) kids wouldnt bother anyone. The house is very typically French and the decor to match but to be honest the only time we spent indoors was sleeping and cooking.
Very, very reasonable cost when shared between 3 familes with children aged 1 to 15 and had eveything we needed. It is remote however and a car is definitely needed. The owners were helpful and very communicative, everything went smoothly and although we didnt need them we felt reassured that they were only a phonecall away. Fully recommend.
Thank you for your comments, it is good to know that all the hard work we put into ensuring that our guests have the best possible holiday is appreciated.
