Beautiful farmhouse located in the gently rolling sunflower-filled landscape of the Lot-et-Garonne within easy reach of Miramont-de-Guyenne, Eymet, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and the many tourist attractions. It's gated and situated in 6.5 acres of fabulous landscaped gardens in a totally private position but just a few minutes drive from the small town of Tombeboeuf which has a boulangerie, butcher, good restaurant, large lake for country walks or fishing and the added bonus of a great 9 hole golf course. There is a cottage in the grounds sleeping 4 people which can be rented separately or together with the Farmhouse. Both properties share the large heated pool.
The views from the terraces and gardens are stunning - whether looking north or south to the hill just above the house and the restored windmill, perfect for painting and particularly fabulous in summer when the fields are carpeted with sunflowers. There are super travertine tiled en suites, decorated with Farrow & Ball paints, Jim Lawrence light fittings and gorgeous soft furnishings. There are also mosquito blinds on the bedroom windows - and all of them upstairs so you can leave your windows open to the breeze at night.
The outdoor space is great for everyone - whether for a lazy afternoon dozing on the daybeds or hammocks or enjoying a game of croquet, badminton or table tennis. There is a good selection of bikes of different sizes for you to use, complemented by a selection of bike helmets. The local markets are always worth a visit. Eymet's market is not to be missed and is on a Thursday, Miramont's market is on a Monday, Villareal's market is on a Saturday and the market at Issigeac on a Sunday is always very busy so try to get there early. Evening markets in the summer months are great to visit.
Head east of the property and visit the impressive chateaux of Biron, Beynac and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle.
The area is home to some of the most beautiful villages in France. Named as some of 'Les plus beaux villages de France', Belves, Beynac-et-Cazenac, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, Monflanquin and Monpazier are all worth a visit.
The Jardins de Marqueyssac are beautiful, and the view from the viewing platform across the Dordogne valley towards La Roque-Gageac is spectacular.
