Peaceful Location with Stunning Views from the Pool. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Palazy is a 2 bedroom beautifully decorated and finished to a high standard secluded ground floor farmhouse apartment with private pool situated in 3 hectares, overlooking a lake, in an elevated position with fabulous breathtaking views. It's perched 200m up on a rocky ridge overlooking the Lot valley. The lake is available for fishing (visit the Mairie’s office for a permit) and picnics or walking around and you can even take a swim. The locals call this "paradise"! Up the steps at the back of the house there is a lovely walk through the woods to the right, or walk to the village to the left.

The town of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, around 9km away, is a large ancient market town on the river in the heart of the valley of the Lot, where there are a number of restaurants, a theatre, cinema and museum. There are atmospheric night markets with live music throughout July and August where you can buy and eat local produce from the region including prunes and foie gras. It is also home to the largest organic market outside of Paris. There are also many medieval villages in the surrounding countryside. Pujols is 6km away and is one of the “Plus Beaux Villages de France”.

Local markets

The local markets are always worth a visit. Villeneuve-sur-Lot is on a Tuesday and Saturday, Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot is on a Friday and Saint-Sylvestre-sur-Lot is on a Wednesday and Saturday. Evening markets in the summer months are great to visit with plenty of food and entertainment.

Beautiful villages

The area is home to some of the most beautiful villages in France. Named as some of 'Les plus beaux villages de France', Belves, Beynac-et-Cazenac, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, Monflanquin, Monpazier and Pujols are all worth a visit.

Chateau visits

Head north east of the property and visit the impressive chateaux of Biron, Beynac and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle.

Beautiful gardens

The Jardins de Marqueyssac are beautiful, and the view from the viewing platform across the Dordogne valley towards La Roque-Gageac is spectacular.
