About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Joe Barry

We rented for a couple of years and then were lucky enough to purchase it. We have found it a fabulous place for family and friend gatherings and reunions, everyone who has visited Les Merleaux has been won over by its charm and sense of relaxation that it provides. We have five children and have spent many holidays with cousins, grandparents and friends - there is always something for everyone to do in the area, or just have your own time at the large house and gardens.

Year property purchased 2014
Why this location? Beautiful location, convenient to Bordeaux and Bergerac airports. A lot to offer in the surrounding areas, including night markets in Duras in the Summer, wine tasting, a 45 minute drive to Castlejaloux where is there is a lake beach and water fun... the list is endless.
Unique benefits of property Although we advertise the property to sleep 12, it is very large and there is plenty of communal space. There are options to sleep extra people. The garden and outside area is extensive, with the pool, several locations including shaded areas for you to sit and relax. It is a very old property with a lot of history attached to the surrounding areas, it is very unique to the locality and has a very relaxing vibe. It is rural and yet a 5 minute drive to supermarkets and local entertainment.
