Has a lively port and good shopping - Cave Moros a wonderful selection of wines. Also a good garden centre but the main tourist attraction is the Ville Close or walled town - a charming citadel which also includes a very interesting Maritime Museum.
Too many to mention but there is so much to see either on foot, bicycles (hire in Tregunc) or by car - lots of interesting little ports of call and places to eat on the way - if you like Oysters try Chez Jacky at Belon and combine your visit with a spectacular walk!
Easily accessible for a days outing are a visit to both Quimper and Vannes - both typical Breton cities. Also a visit to Foret Fouesenant a very attractive area and a must stop to eat at Le Vieux Port to sample the freshest of fish and meet a delightful patron! - finishing off with a beautiful walk.
A fascinating and historical village with much to see starting with the Artists Museum - lovely walks along side the river encompassing many watermills. Special foods, shops and eating places including the famous biscuits. Belle Illoise for speciality tinned fish products amongst our favourites.
You will see many examples of these on your travels around - some in Nevez nearby but particularly in Keroscoet - park the car at Tahiti beach carpark and enjoy a stunning walk there and back - refreshments available in the village too - -enjoy!
The best within a 5 minute drive or short walk from our property - so safe and clean with spectacular scenery - try also Pointe de Trevignon which has everything from a long beach, a cove and good eating and drinking places - a must try is the excellent crepe and cidre eatery at the roundabout where you can sit and enjoy wonderful sunsets too!
As busy people we were looking for a secluded holiday spot that offered peace and quiet but with good local amenities. This property had everything we wanted, a delightful cottage in spacious grounds with neighbours not too close and no passing traffic. Perfect! Nearby wide and safe beaches an easy drive, likewise small towns and supermarket. The cottage is well described and is homely and warm. It was well prepared for our arrival and contained all we needed for self catering. If you want a little tranquility, a place to relax, read, and be close to walks along a beautiful coastline, La Maison Rose is hard to beat.
Thanks so much for your lovely comments - we hope to welcome you back!
This was our third stay which says it all really. It is such a peaceful place to stay if you want a relaxing holiday but it is also in an ideal area for exploring beaches & countryside together with the many towns where there are lots of interesting places to visit as well as numerous markets. The house is well equipped and has a decent sized BBQ. The garden is very large & ideal if you have children.
Thanks so much for your review and comments - we are always happy that our visitors have a good holiday - as you say your 3rd visit, so we hope that it won't be your last! - all the best Martin and Trish
Having stayed in the Roseland peninsula in Cornwall for the past 10 years and loved it, this exceeded our expectations considerably. Lovely house;immaculately clean and well appointed. Seriously quiet with just the sound of the surf , turtle doves, blackbirds etc etc. Local amenities excellent - Nevez is a small town/village with excellent fish, patissiere and wines. Very friendly. Roads quiet. Beaches just wonderful and a huge variety of habitats. A naturalist's paradise, and a gastronome's !!
Local foods just amazing.
We will return again.....and again.
Many thanks for your comments - we are always delighted when our visitors are happy with what we provide - we aim to please and treat our guests as we would like to be treated - we hope that we shall be able to welcome you back another year. best wishes Martin and Trish
We had three smashing weeks at La Maison Rose. The property was as described on the website and booking was very straightforward. The owners, Martin and Trish, were very helpful and gave our holiday a good start. The house was very well presented and fully equipped with everything that we needed for our stay. The place was very clean, and the large front and rear gardens were well tended. The weather was mixed during our stay, with some wet and windy days as well as some sunny days. Despite this we were able to get out each day to enjoy the beaches and coastal walks just a few minutes drive from the Gite. It was lovely to spend time in the garden, enjoying a glass or two of wine while in peaceful and tranquil surroundings, with just the sound of birdsong to break the silence. We even had deer wandering around the garden on two evenings and one morning during our stay; what a surprise! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend La Maison Rose to other holiday makers, and hope to return there very soon.
Many thanks for your lovely review - we are so glad when our visitors really benefit from their time at Maison Rose - of course we are biased and always find it hard to come home leaving the peace and tranquility behind! The deer and all the birds are very special and we have also often heard the cuckoo too!
We shall be pleased to help you again when you wish to visit another time.
Thanks again.. Martin and Trish
