About the Owner, Mrs Lucy Johnson

My husband and I bought Jour D'Ete following many years trying to find the perfect holiday home. We had taken our holidays in Benodet several times and knew that we wanted to be in this part of Finistere, we soon realised that our hearts lay in Sainte Marine, however, property here is very sought after, eventually we found our perfect holiday home, we popped over to France, viewed, signed and sealed the deal in a weekend, we have never looked back!

Year property purchased 2007
Why this location? Jour D'Ete is perfectly located. Sainte Marine is a lovely village with a picturesque harbour with café bars and restaurants and a passenger ferry over to neighbouring Benodet and the long sandy beach is beautiful. Both are within walking distance from our holiday home. Nearby towns like pretty Pont Aven, fortified Concarneau, historic Quimper and the surfing beaches of La Torche are a short drive away.
Unique benefits of property Jour D'Ete is all on one level making it ideal for guests of all ages. The garden surrounds the property and is secure making it safe for children. The property is so perfectly located that you can abandon your car on the drive and walk to a wonderful beach, the harbour, restaurants, cafes, bread shop and general stores. We use Jour D'Ete as a holiday home ourselves and as such we feel that the property is well equipped and has everything necessary for a lovely relaxing holiday.

Places to visit

If you can drag yourself away for Sainte Marine with its choice of cafes and it's beautiful beach right on your doorstep and cosmopolitan Benodet has already been visited, we recommend visits to Pont Aven, a lovely riverside village where you can also enjoy boat trips, the city of Quimper with it's Cathedral, atmospheric old quarter, a large selection of shops and restaurants, Concarneau, a fortified town with narrow streets filled with shops and restuarants and further out some lovely beaches. If you enjoy surfing or just want to be wowed by the fantastic waves beyond the sand dunes head for Pointe de La Torche, where you will also find some creperies and cafes. You can also cycle along the path from the beach at Sainte Marine to neighbouring Ile Tudy a small sea side town on an peninsular,
