About this property

Relaxing Villa within Walking Distance of Beach. This villa is in a coastal village setting.

The house is a large detached one in a very peaceful location in the village of Lampaul Ploudalmezeau and is within easy walking distance of the sea. It has been fully renovated and every room comes with new electricity sockets. There is a large garden mainly in cut lawn at the back and for at least three cars at parking side of the house. The back of the property faces south and the patio doors from the living room lead on to a terrace which gets the sun all day. An aperitif and a meal on the terrace is a very relaxing way to spend an evening.
Having had several requests for internet access we have now had it installed. In conjunction with this all landline calls to Europe are free although calls to mobiles are different. In addition we have had a separate telephone system installed so that guests may receive calls from UK callers at a cheaper rate for the caller. All of this has been an expensive addition so we would ask guests to use this facility with discretion.

Nice holiday house and very appreciative of the fact that the owners have left a lot a stuff at the house that we could use and didn't have to bring ourselves (BBQ, toys, dvds/videos, kitchen equipment etc etc). House is about 100yds away from a stunning beach, but you'll need to drive to find other things to do as there's not much to do in the village (a Bar/Tabac and that's it).
House had a really big garden which our son took full advantage of, and off street parking on the driveway. The house itself is a bit tired looking on the inside (a few damp areas affecting the paint and a bit of dusting needed in a few corners of the rooms) but perfectly adequate for our needs - it comfortably sleeps 6 (2 large double rooms and a large twin room) but I would think the downstairs living area might be a bit small for this number of people (there were only 3 of us and it was just the right size for us).
The internet was fast and reliable and the owners have a digibox that can connect to all the usual UK digital TV channels.
Fabienne, who greeted us, was really lovely and had laid on a bottle of wine, jam and bread as a welcome package which was a nice gesture.

Owner response

Thank you for your review. I see you found out, as we said in our listing, that we are in a very quiet village but that is more than compensated for by the beautiful beaches and the stunning scenery. It is an old house and paint is liable to flake but no one has ever found it to be a problem before. We have regularly had parties of six staying in the house and have never had any complaints about space in the living area as there are extra chairs in the garage and in the dining area. The welcome pack is part of our policy and is left for all our guests. We are glad you enjoyed it.

A real home from home, clean and comfortable, a good base to explore this beautiful coastline.

Ty Cam was an attractive comfortable house within a short walk to the beach at Lampaul and a very attractive coastline to walk along in either direction. We were a group of mixed ages although of the same family but found the house adapted to our various needs. Soundproofing from bedroom to bedroom could be improved a little to give more privacy.

We had a great week there, friendly village but not many amenities, however it was a short drive to all that was needed.

The owners were very helpful in every way and tried to provide all that made a holiday enjoyable at the house

We will possibly be back and would recommend it to our friends.
