About the Owner, Mrs Emma Pugh

We had a plan 5 years before we retired to move to France and that day finally came in August 2014! We both worked in the forces and dreamed of having a small holding in a peaceful location, growing our own vegetables and keeping a few animals. We have a few sheep and pigs and have had a bumper crop of vegetables this year, which we offered to guests staying in the gite. We thoroughly enjoy the lifestyle Brittany provides us it's extremely peaceful and more than we dreamed of.

Year property purchased 2014
Why this location? We loved the fact that although we feel totally rural it's a perfect location to explore, we are close to all the coastlines and only an hour to Brest or 40 minutes to Quimper a beautiful city steeped in history, we are also in the Park d'Armonique which has amazing landscapes to explore, we feel we have everything we need nearby and come home to a beautiful secluded spot with only the birds and trees making any noise.
Unique benefits of property As I said above everything you could want is within easy reach, all our guests have said that they have never felt so relaxed and that is exactly how we want all our guests to feel, we renovated the gite ourselves with great care and thought for comfort, keeping original features also. A starter pack is provided free of charge for your convenience on arrival such as milk, water, tea, coffee and of course a bottle of wine!

We had a very good experience with our choice of somewhere to stay in France on this occasion. The gite was very comfortable, clean and inviting,so much so that we are looking to book to go back again soon. We found that the owners are a lovely couple, warm and inviting and always ready to help if needed. There are plenty of interesting places to visit within an hour or less. So ,yes we had a very restful in lovely countryside ideal for walks or cycle rides. We also found it easy to find even though it was foggy when we arrived.

Owner response

We are so pleased you enjoyed the gite, surroundings and your holiday! We are really looking forward to seeing you again in August when hopefully all your great tips on gardening will be in full bloom.

What a treasure! This holiday cottage is tucked away offering complete privacy yet the owners are close to hand should you need anything. The welcome is warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. On arrival and at our request a delicious homemade lasagna was supplied. The cottage is clean and delightfully decorated providing just the right balance of mod cons and rustic charm. We particularly enjoyed lighting the wood burner after a day exploring the surrounding towns and villages. We would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to experience Brittany and now that we have found this we will definitely be staying as often as work allows!
