About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Jonathan Myers

We are a retired couple from the West Midlands in England and enjoy regular trips over to our holiday home in Brittany. We have several children and grandchildren who also enjoy visiting the house as they love its close proximity to the beautiful local beaches, which are ideal for young children.

Year property purchased 2005
Why this location? Having decided we wanted to buy a holiday home in this corner of Brittany, we looked at several properties in the area but knew this was the right one for us as soon as we saw it. We were instantly won over by its location with breathtaking sea views from the extensive outdoor terrace. The open-plan living areas and all the bedrooms benefit from sea views, so you’re never far from a stunning view wherever you are in the house. Having such beautiful coastal walks and gorgeous beaches on our doorstep really sealed the deal for us. There’s always lots going on here during the summer months, but this still feels like a peaceful part of Brittany.
Unique benefits of property The house is very spacious with everything you would need for a family holiday. There’s also plenty of outside space and the garden is completely enclosed, making it safe for young children. The property is in a quiet location but within easy access of many local amenities: the nearest boulangerie is a five-minute walk and the supermarket in Plouhinec is just a short drive.
The nearest beach is within walking distance, but there are a wide range of excellent white sandy beaches within a few minutes’ drive. Some of them have lifeguards on duty during the summer holidays so they are suitable for young families. A short drive from the house takes you into the pretty fishing port of Audierne where there are wide range of restaurants, cafés and bars. If you want to go further afield, you can catch the ferry from nearby Esquibien and take a day trip to Île de Sein, and don’t miss the chance to visit the dramatic Pointe Du Raz, France’s equivalent of Land’s End.

The Owner Recommends

Île de Sein

Catch the ferry from nearby Esquibien and enjoy a day out on this island off the coast of Brittany. Take in stunning costal views on the journey to the island and enjoy walks around this peaceful location.

Pointe Du Raz

Enjoy breathtaking clifftop walks at France's equivalent to Land's End

Historic Breton town with magnificent cathedral at its centre. Excellent variety of restaurants, shops and tourist attractions.

Attractive fishing port famous for its sardine fishing heritage and its sailing regattas. Visit the maritime museum, the medieval hilltop farm or enjoy a meal at one of the many harbourside restaurants.

Drive, walk, cycle or canoe along the scenic route through the Goyen valley from Audierne to reach the picturesque town of Pont-Croix. Explore the medieval heart of the town and take in the pretty riverside views.

A great holiday in lovely surroundings, the owners were fantastic with communication prior to our stay and when we got there we found everything we would need in the house. There is a games room upstairs that the kids (6 and 3) loved, complete with table football. There is also a full sized table tennis table in the garage as well as beach gear and really good barbecue.
The house itself is well equipped and nicely decorated, we loved staying there, plenty of room for all of us.
Was more like staying in a friends house than a holiday let, would thoroughly recommend to any families with young or older kids. Short walk to the patisserie in the mornings kept us stocked up with bread and cake. Beach at Esquibien was lovely and never got busy despite being at the height of the season.
Point du raz, well worth a visit is around 40 minutes away, Audierne a short drive for some amazing crepes, chocolate and cherry ones are something else!
A great place that i hope we can visit again one day.
