Maison Mimosa has 2 luxuriously appointed self-catering apartments offering spacious accommodation and set in beautiful private grounds in the most stunning, undiscovered part of Brittany.

Maison Mimosa is owned by us: Adrian and Ros Goddard. We bought the property after enjoying several holidays in this wonderful area. We moved from Shalbourne, near Marlborough in Wiltshire (another gorgeous part of the world), however, this part of Brittany also has so much to offer; we believe that it boasts the best elements of Devon, Dorset and Cornwall, together with superb seafood, sublime beaches, pretty coastal walks, weekly local markets with impressive displays of fresh produce and a temperate climate. The house is situated approximately 500 metres from the local beach at Rospico, and it takes only five minutes or so to reach the golden sands via the footpath at the bottom of our garden. The two-bedroomed apartment offers accommodation for up to four people. Our apartments will only ever accommodate a maximum of 6 people in total at any one time in order to ensure a truly relaxing, exclusive holiday experience for all our guests.

Please note that regrettably we do not accept children under the age of eighteen and we are unable to accommodate pets.

Welcome Basket: Prepared for your arrival is a generous Welcome Basket containing key food provisions to help you settle in. This includes:
– Fresh bread, butter, jam and eggs

– Salt, pepper, oil and vinegar

Bed Linen and Towels: Provided for your convenience and comfort is a range of luxurious quality 100% Egyptian Cotton 600 thread count bed linen, duvets, pillows, mattress and pillow protectors, bath robes, towels and bath mats, all inclusive of your apartment rental.
Towels sets are provided for each guest and include a bath towel, hand towel and flannel. Please note that beach towels are NOT provided. All our mattresses are memory foam to ensure maximum comfort and support to enable a good night’s sleep. The beds do not have foot boards which can otherwise be restrictive to tall guests.
Hairdryer in each bedroom
Reasonable use of our utility room washing machine and tumble dryer, both of which are at the exclusive disposal of our guests at a nominal charge.
Cleaning Materials: We provide a wide range of cleaning materials and equipment in each apartment, to help minimise the amount of items you might normally consider bringing with you. These include:
– Tea towels, hand towels, dishcloths and some cleaning products
– Bin bags and recycling bin bags
– Washing-up liquid and hand wash soap
– Some dishwasher tablets
– Dustpan and brush

Regarding places to visit and things to do, we are happy to discuss your individual requirements with you in order to tailor your holiday to maximise your enjoyment. There is also a selection of the latest brochures of things to do and places to visit.

Walking Pack: We also have walking maps to help you plan out your ideal route.
Beautiful private gardens, bbq and picnic areas: There are several secluded areas in the private landscaped gardens with barbecuing facilities, including all you need to have a barbecue, such as melamine crockery and cups, cutlery and Tupperware boxes, etc. We also provide plenty of sun loungers, sun umbrellas and outside seating for relaxing.
Games: Indoor games such as Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit are available.

Travel Discounts: We are able to give you access to travel discounts with Brittany Ferries (up to 20%). Once you have made a reservation with us, we will forward to you a code which you will enable you to obtain discounted quotes and make subsequent reservations with Brittany Ferries.



Kitchen and dining

The apartment has an open-plan sitting room and kitchen with a dining area:

The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size oven, electric hob (4 rings) together with an extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with icebox compartment, kettle, toaster, as well as all the glassware, crockery, cutlery, tea towels, pots and pans you would expect to find in your own home (please see the full list of items provided in the “what we provide” section on our website).

The dining area next to the kitchen comprises a table and 4 chairs.

Living rooms

The apartment has an open-plan sitting room and kitchen with a dining area:
The sitting room contains 2 sofas, side tables, a television with English and French satellite channels, dvd player and free wi-fi. A selection of dvdS and books are available from a library in the entrance hall.

The dining area next to the kitchen comprises a table and 4 chairs.


Apartment 2 comprises the following:-

A double bedroom that offers a king-size bed, together with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. All bed linen is provided at no extra cost.

A twin bedroom that offers two large single beds (3’ x 6’6”), together with a wardrobe area and two chest of drawers. All bed linen is provided at no extra cost.

Bath robes are also provided.


A well-appointed shower room with a Grohe thermastically-controlled shower in a large walk-in shower enclosure, together with a sink, toilet and heated towel rail. Towels are provided at no extra cost. Please note we do not provide beach towels.


The apartment has thermostatically controlled electric radiators in all living areas and bedrooms together with large radiators in the bathrooms.


The apartment has free, unlimited internet access (wi-fi), English and French Satellite television, dvd player (a selection of dvds are available to borrow) and reading material.

Garden and outside

The apartment has lovely views of the extensive gardens, which our guests may explore and use for relaxing or sunbathing in several of the secluded areas. Plenty of garden furniture, sun loungers and sunshades are available. There is also the facility for a barbecue should you wish to do so. Breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals are also offered in the gardens. At the bottom of the garden is a path that will take you onto several foot paths to start a lovely walk. The path also takes you down to the local beach, 500 metres away, at Anse de Rospico one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. The coastal path can take you to Port Manek and beyond or in the other direction to 'Tahiti' beach and further.

There is secure storage in our garage for your sports equipment, such as bicycles, golf clubs, etc.

Visitor suitability

Our accommodation and area suits holidaymakers looking for a relaxing experience, whether your relaxation is derived through surfing, diving, sailing, horse riding, cycling, walking, bird-watching or simply enjoying the many beautiful beaches. There is a wide range of restaurants and cafes that will provide for every taste and pocket. The area is especially good for seafood lovers.

Information about any additional facilities

Port Manek, an idyllic coastal village (5 minute cycle ride or 2 minutes by car), has a well stocked shop and bar where you can buy freshly baked patisseries and bread along with your day to day groceries. Next to the shop is a cycle hire facility and there is also a water sports activity centre and a popular bistro on the beach.

Our local town of Nevez (5 minutes by car) offers 2 supermarkets, including a newly renovated large Intermarche, a superb wet fishmongers, a bank, a chemist, 2 boulangeries, a post office, hair and beauty salons, 2 bars and several resturants, creperies and a pizza parlor. There are also 2 doctor surgeries if needed and a very helpful tourist information office. Nevez also has a bustling market on Saturday morning.

For keen equestrians, the Rospico ranch is a mere 1.5 km from our accommodation in addition to the Botanical Gardens which are only 1km away, which are host to many jazz concerts, including a 3 day jazz festival, throughout the summer months.

Why this location? This part of Brittany has so much to offer; we believe that it boasts the best elements of Devon, Dorset and Cornwall, together with superb seafood, sublime beaches, extensive pretty coastal walks, weekly local markets with impressive displays of fresh produce and a temperate climate. We are spoilt for choice with the many superb beaches close to us. The three nearest beaches, however, are Rospico beach (500m), Raguenez beach (2km) and Port Manech beach (2km).
Rospico beach, which is 500m away from the back of the garden down a footpath, has gently sloping sands for easy entry into the sea, and has a beach bar/café/restaurant that is popular with walkers and beach-goers alike. Being keen walkers ourselves, and having already explored the glorious surrounding countryside and coastal areas around us, we are able to recommend many different walking routes enabling you to unlock the treasures of our local area.

Market, Lunch and Relaxation.

There is nothing better than a visit to the weekly Friday market at Concarneau (about a 25 minute drive), next to the historic walled town, to take in the wonderful atmosphere and diverse produce for sale, from ultra-fresh seafood to freshly cooked roast chicken and pork with crackling; there is also a daily indoor market here (Les Halles) offering wonderful goods. After soaking up the atmosphere of the market you can stroll through the old walled town to find a restaurant, there are many to choose from, for a leisurely lunch.
After lunch you could visit one of the many beautiful beaches for a short walk on the coastal path and to possible relax on the beach.
On another day you could visit the charming town of Pont Aven (10 minute drive) famed for its association with the artist Paul Gauguin and a constant lure for many artists which also has a weekly market. This pretty town, located on the river Aven, is set in beautiful surrounds that can be appreciated most by exploring on foot. After you have discovered the charm of Pont Aven you can go for lunch at one of its many eateries. Maybe buy a baguette and sit over looking the pretty harbour or push the boat out and visit the famed Moulin de Rosmadec restaurant for a truly memorable gastronomic experience. After lunch a boat trip down the Aven river will offer you the chance to see the beautiful coast line and countryside from a different perspective. After this exhilaration why not come back to Mason Mimosa and relax in the garden with afternoon tea or even an aperitif!
