The Shed is a delightful, newly renovated two bedroom bungalow, that sleeps 4. The is garden privately enclosed to allow privacy for children or animals.
The cottage is located in the tiny Hamlet of Le Menec and is a 2 minute drive or a 20 minute walk to the picturesque market town of Huelgoat. Here there is are a good selection of shops, restaurants, boulongerie’s and patisseries, bars and local supermarkets.
Huelgoat is a mystical town with lots to explore. The nearby enchanting ‘Foret de Huelgoat’, with its plentiful walking and picnic stops, is famous for its huge boulders.
In the centre of the town is a stunning lake with various water activities to enjoy.
The Shed offers an ideal base for those wanting a quiet, peaceful retreat whilst being close to many of Brittany’s tourist attractions including the Northern Brittany’s coast which is only a 40 minute drive away.
The front door leads directly to the well-equipped modern kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, electric kettle and electric fan assisted oven with gas hob. The plentiful cooking utensils provided are perfect for a self-catering holiday.
The kitchen has a fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, electric kettle and electric fan assisted oven with gas hob. There is a wide variety of cooking utensils to accommodate anybody wishing to take advantage of self-catering and entertaining.
There is a washing machine, rotary washing line and clothes airers and a small shed to store away and camping or cycles you may bring along.
Cleaning products are provided by the host.
Inside there is a dining table for 4 places.
To the outside the property, there is a large terrace with table and chairs and a lawned area. This is ideal for “al fresco dining” or just relaxing and enjoying the views
The property would be suitable for guests with impaired mobility there is one small step from the living room to the kitchen. The property would not be suitable for wheelchair users.
From the kitchen you enter a comfortable sitting room/dining room with an amazing view over the garden and terraced area. The sitting room has English DVD's, French tv channels with a dvd player.
There is also access to free wi-fi throughout the property.
The Shed has oiled heating for those winter evenings.
From the sitting room you enter into 2 light airy bedrooms. The first bedroom has 2 single beds and the second bedroom has a double bed.
Bed linen and towels are provided. However please provide your own beach towels.
Each room has patio doors that can be opened up fully onto the garden.
There is a spacious bathroom with a new large shower cubicle and wc and wash hand basin.
The Shed has oiled fired heating. Just right for those cooler months!
The sitting room has English tv, French tv channels with a dvd player.
There is also access to free wi-fi throughout the property.
To the outside the property, there is a large terrace with table and chairs and a lawned area. This is ideal for “al fresco dining” or just relaxing and enjoying the views. A firepit is provided for your use.
The Shed has its own private drive with ample parking.
With all living areas on one level, the property is suitable for guests with impaired mobility. There is, however, a small step from the living room to the kitchen. The property is not suitable for wheelchair users.
One well behaved dog is welcome as long as they are kept on a lead in the outside public areas. Please check at time of booking! We ask that you do not allow your dog to go on furniture or beds and that you clear up any “dog mess” in the garden. We are able to help with making a vet's appointment for your return journey to comply with animal travel regulations.
Please note that the back of the property adjoins onto another cottage. The Shed has its own private garden and drive/entrance.

Pink Granite coast is a must see and you are only an hour’s drive (69km). It offers beautiful scenery, thanks to its waters, islands, wildlife and flora. But above all, the coast is characterised by its granitic chaos, with its pink shades and shapes that appeal to the imagination. You can walk along the coastal paths to take in the sites of the pink boulders.
Carhaix is only a 15 minutes’ drive away and has a swimming baths with an outdoors water park, adventure park with zip wiring, golf, paint balling and a maze to explore. Carhaix has lots of restaurants, shops, supermarkets and their market day is on a Saturday and this is well worth a visit to buy your local produce.
Huelgoat is a thriving market town in the centre of Brittany catering for all your shopping needs including a boulangerie for those freshly baked morning croissants! There are a good selection of shops, restaurants, boulongerie’s and patisseries, bars and local supermarkets.
You will find a launderette, churches, local cinema, banks, tourist information and doctor’s surgery in Huelgoat
Huelgoat is a mystical town with lots to explore such as the forest at ‘Foret de Huelgoat’ which is famous for its huge boulders to explore.
In the center you will find a stunning lake with various water activities to enjoy with the nearby enchanting Forests to walk through with areas for picnics in a tranquil setting.
Market day is on a Thursday morning and well worth a visit for local produce and artifacts. From ‘The Shed’ it is only 1.5 km to the center of Huelgoat and this takes about 20 minutes to walk.
Some other tourist attractions nearby are The Valley of the Saints are worth a visit.
For those that like the outdoors there are the beautiful sandy beaches on the coast line of Armorique Natural Regional Park and it is only 39km away (40 mins drive) surrounded by restaurants serving mussels, oysters and other culinary delights! You are only 30km away from Morlaix with lots of shops, restaurants, bars, cinemas, and bowling.
Other places to explore further afield are the beautiful medieval French town of Quimper with lots of excellent restaurants and shopping to buy local products. Concarneau is a very popular place to go and visit on an evening you could have a meal inside the medieval French walled city next to the sea. If you like Château’s there is lots to go and see such as Château de Trévarez drawing you into the charm of the local culture.
