The 1st level comprises of a fully kitted out kitchen, one double bedroom with shower room, wc and a living dining room. There are stairs that lead down to the sous sol, where you will find the washing machine tumble dryer, and a variety of games and various other bits of equipment.

The living room gives onto the terrace which has stairs leading down to the garden at the back.

On the top level, are the three bedrooms and the main bathroom (including wc).

The kitchen is fully fitted and has all the utensils you may need. It has a large breakfast table for less formal meals. The dining room is attached to the living room and has a solid oak table that can easily sit 8 people.

Living rooms

Living room comes equipped with all necessary seating and tv with coffee table. It has double doors that lead to the terrace. A recently installed woodburner allows for cosy evenings in front of the fire.

Bedrooms

There are 4 bedrooms in the house and a cot bed. The downstairs bedroom next to the kitchen, is a double room that overlooks the back garden. It benefits from having a shower room. The other 3 bedrooms are located upstairs. There is another double bedroom, and two bedrooms that have each got 2 single beds in them. All 3 upstairs bedrooms have small sea views.

Bathrooms

There is 1 main bathroom upstairs, with a bathtub/shower and a wc. There is also a shower room and wc downstairs on the first level.

Heating

There are radiators in each room, and a woodburner in the living/dining room.

Entertainment

There is a television and games console in the living room with French satellite tv. In the sous sol are various games indoors and out, as well as having the necessary equipment to allow you to go and fish your own seafood near l'Île Callot.

Garden and outside

A private fully enclosed garden that allows for badminton games and young children to run around in safety. The terrace at the back of the house has 2 sunloungers and table and chairs that can accommodate 8 people. A barbecue is provided, but must not be used on terrace, as it is wooden.

Parking and garages

There is off street parking outside the house, which is free. Or there is parking in the sous sol, for 1 car.

Visitor suitability

The property is ideal for couples with children as well as friends meeting up to discover Carantec and the surrounding area. It is a friendly quiet neighbourhood with not much noise after 11pm.

Married with two teenage children, we have enjoyed living and working in a number of countries, but chose Carantec as our base.

Year property purchased 2013
Why this location? We chose Carantec because my family are from the area, and my wife fell in love with the area and the wide range of outdoor activities that are on offer. Carantec has something for everyone, and our children have taken (and continue to take) full advantage of everything that is on offer within Carantec, throughout the year. As my wife is from Somerset in England, the ease of travelling to Plymouth from Carantec made the decision to buy in Carantec very easy.
Unique benefits of property The property benefits from being walking distance to the town centre as well as the beaches, yet is in a quiet area. Bars and restaurants are also within walking distance. It is detached and has a wrap around enclosed garden, so privacy is guaranteed. It is fully equipped, light and well kept. We provide various games/equipments to take full advantage of the garden and the surrounding area, such as "pêche à pieds.

La Table de Ty Pot

If you fancy some fine dining at affordable prices, Ty Pot is a must. Situated in the heart of Carantec (500m from the house), it has a relaxed atmosphere and is family friendly, but the cuisine is varied and delicious.

O'Gourmandise - Stéphane Giraud

If you like chocolats and typical French confiseries, this is where you'll find them. The small "cakes" are delicious and varied for all tastes.

Market

The market is every thursday and during the summer is extremely busy due to the wide range of local produce, and the quality of the goods on offer.

La Chaise du Curé

If you enjoy "la galette bretonne" (savoury pancakes), la Chaise du Curé offers a great selection as well as the traditional ones. Down to earth, affordable but in a great location and very friendly service.

Carantec Nautisme

The sailing club is open to everyone and is on la Plage du Kelenn (1km max from house). You can hire pretty much anything that is sea related and relevant to the local environment. The prices are very affordable, considering what is available to see and do.

Plage du Kelenn

Plage Kelenn is within walking distance from the town centre, and the house. It has a jetty where you can catch tour boats to see the local coastline, or go to Roscoff or Morlaix. You can spend all day on the beach, as it has various activities for all ages as well as 3 restaurants just on the front. There is also a park and football pitch behind the beach or you can walk along the coastal path and discover some more secluded beaches.
