About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Christopher Webb

After many years of holidaying here in rural France, we bought a holiday home in 2003. Each time we returned to England it became harder to leave this tranquil lifestyle behind. In July 2012 we bought our current home and left England. We took a year to create our holiday cottage in the garden which has become Cider Cottage. We enjoy sharing our own special piece of French countryside with our guests.

Year property purchased 2012
Why this location? We are located in the heart of rural Brittany; surrounded by rolling farmland and birdsong; yet we are only a few minutes away from all amenities. This is an ideal site from which to explore Brittany's rich Celtic history and close to the coast for taking part in beach activities.
Unique benefits of property A stay at Cider Cottage offers our guests peace and tranquility in a beautiful rural setting yet only a short journey to numerous tourist attraction. A haven to return to at the end of a busy day of sightseeing.

Our second stay in Cider Cottage, so clean comfortable with everything you can possibly need. Angela and Chris are there for any advice, recommendation or anything you require and are a charming couple. We also stayed in Les Laurier, the other Cottage, last year which is equally delightful.
The garden is lovely and the surrounding scenery very beautiful. So many lovely birds and in the garden this year we were able to watch the local woodpecker feeding his two babies from the bird table, a delight! Lots of lovely local villages to visit, a very picturesque area altogether.

We will certainly return to Cider Cottage as soon as we are able, thank you Angela and Chris.

Owner response

Lovely area, lovely gite, very clean and very comfortable with everything you need for a stay. Chris and Angela were delightfully welcoming and took the time to show us around the property to explain where everything was. There was lots of information about the local area and sites which was very helpful. Quiet area but close to villages and towns, shops and bars. Probably a great spot for bird watchers, we saw some amazing birds close by! Highly recommend the gite.

Owner response

We booked both cottages on this site as a family group. We were highly impressed with the comfort, style and standard of equipment. The hosts who are on site were friendly and made us very welcome. We were greeted with a welcome pack of local Breton goodies. Our hosts were able to offer advice on local sites and facilities. We were surprised at how much there was to see and do in the area even on a winter break. We visited Saint Malo, Dinard, Dinan, Fougeres and Vitre. All walled medieval cities. Le Mont Saint Michel was amazing. The garden of the property is lovely we saw numerous species of birds, deer and red squirrel. We are already planning our next visit next year.

Owner response

We are pleased that everyone enjoyed their stay and are delighted that you intend to return in the New Year. We look forward to making you welcome again.
