About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Christopher Webb

After many years of holidaying here in rural France, we bought a holiday home in 2003. Each time we returned to England it became harder to leave this tranquil lifestyle behind. In July 2012 we bought our current home and left England. We took a year to create our holiday cottage in the garden which has become Cider Cottage. We enjoy sharing our own special piece of French countryside with our guests.

Year property purchased 2012
Why this location? We are located in the heart of rural Brittany; surrounded by rolling farmland and birdsong; yet we are only a few minutes away from all amenities. Unique benefits of property A stay at Cider Cottage offers our guests peace and tranquility in a beautiful rural setting yet only a short journey to numerous tourist attraction. A haven to return to at the end of a busy day of sightseeing.

Cider Cottage has been superbly renovated to a very high standard by the present owners - all the fixtures and fittings exude quality and nothing 'cheap and cheerful' has been used. The owners Chris and Angela live on site and are very personable and helpful (even to the extent of taking me to the local hospital with a cut finger on our first evening!). The cottage is in a really peaceful rural location where the big event of the day is a tractor going past the end of the lane. Would thoroughly recommend this property for those wishing to chill out in comfort.

Owner response

Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and found the tranquil retreat you were looking for. Hope the finger is soon fully healed and we look forward to being able to make you welcome next time you pass this way.

Amazing gite. On arrival, the owners were welcoming and made us feel very comfortable and at home. The cottage itself was spotless and must be the most well equipped self catering place we've ever stayed in! It was tastefully decorated and felt comfortable and homely. The gardens were just incredible to explore and the children loved the swings. The shower was lovely, having a waterfall shower head as well as a regular one. No bath, but the shower head was not fixed, so we could shower our younger children happily. Having acsess to a washing machine and line was great with 2 young children in tow.
The cottage is ell positioned for good days out. We loved Saint Marlo and Fougeres. We would highly recommend and hope to return soon!

Owner response

We had a fantastic week staying in the lovely Cider cottage. Chris & Angela were extremely welcoming and all round excellent hosts!
The cottage itself is beautiful - very clean, well equipped and comfortable with everything you could need. A real home from home. The cottage gardens are beautiful and our children really enjoyed playing in them.
During our week we enjoyed visiting Ange Michel (which our 7 & 5 year olds loved), Mont St Michel and the town of Fougères to name a few. We also enjoyed riding our bikes on the local trail.
The property is set in a very peaceful and relaxing area.

All in all, I would highly recommend staying at this property. Thanks Chris & Angela for a great week!

Owner response

Thank you to you all. We were delighted that you enjoyed your stay and we thoroughly enjoyed your company. Sharing the children's adventures and introducing them to Mr Mole. We hope that you will pass this way again at some future date. Enjoy the rest of your holiday Bonne Route.

We came to this wonderful cottage as two families for a short break. We stayed in both Les Lauriers and Cider Cottage. We had a great time as the weather was lovely. The cottages offer every comfort for family holidays in an ideal rural setting yet within easy distance of numerous tourist sites and beaches. Too many to see in our short stay. We will be back.

Owner response

Thank you for your kind comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and were happy to share time with you. We hope that you will return another time so that we can continue our debates by the side of the bbq.
