Le Cottage at Le Moulin des Chateaux is a charming detached stone property (formerly a farmhouse dating back at least 200 years) set in its own secluded small valley with superb lake views from all of the principal rooms.
Private 5 acre lake 10 metres from the front door. Permit free fishing. Tackle and bait can be supplied by prior arrangement.
It is approached via its own private tree-lined lane.
The British owners live nearby.
Well equipped solid oak modern fitted kitchen, totally refurbished in 2017.
Bosch oven/ Bosch ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, Bosch dishwasher, coffee-maker, toaster etc.

Electric panel heaters strategically placed throughout the property. Electricity usage is metered & charged for @ end of rental period 0.19 Euros/kW.
There is also a log burning fire in the lounge (logs can be supplied).

Due to the open tread stairs the property is unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems.
As the lake is so close children need to be supervised at all times.

Le Cottage is well placed for visiting Mt.St.Michel, St.Malo, Avranches, Parc Floral de Haute Bretagne, Combourg (beautiful Chateau), Fougeres with its massive 13th Century fortress, Cancale (Picturesque harbours/centre for oyster production), St.Hilaire du Harcouet with its typically French market on a Wednesday morning. Granville and Iles Chausey.
Golf - a driving range is 10 minutes away and 18 hole courses can be found @ Granville & Dol de Bretagne, both under an hour away.
There are also a number of well marked walks in the vicinity. The area is also ideal for exploration by bicycle.
There are several good restaurants in the area in Fougeres, Louvigne and Ducey.

A beautiful setting. Being an avid angler, being beside such a tranquil lake and having the chance to fish it was a huge bonus. The cottage was in pristine condition and spotlessly clean. Amenities were sufficient for our needs, several supermarkets within easy reach and a lovely bakery down the road for those essential pastries in the morning.
A true paradise for the wife and I.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage for other like minded folk.
It was simple to book, cost effective and there were nothing that wasn't in the overview of the place that left us unhappy.
I'm already looking for similar properties for spring next year.
What a lovey property in a gorgeous location. The setting is spectacular and the area is quiet yet the kind owners are nearby if required. The facilities in the cottage are of a high standard and we had a great welcome with a few necessities to get us started. The locality is rural so local amenities are limited but we were not looking for night life and there is plenty of interesting places to visit by car. The local famers’ market is a must as are the famous castles and seaside resorts.
We will be back and have no hesitation in recommending this property to couples, families or groups.
