The gite is just fantastic and we would recommend it to anyone, who wants to get away from it all, whilst keeping all the home comforts to hand. We are a family of 5 (twin 7 year old girls and a 4 year old boy) & having spent a week in Eurodisney & Paris needed some real relaxation. We were not disappointed! Jane & Nigel are perfect hosts & nothing is too much trouble- having them next door is very reassuring too, just in case! The gite itself is superb, really homely & comfortable, with everything you could possibly wish for, outside & inside seating, well stocked kitchen & lots of games. The log burner, comfy beds, power showers, British TV, BBQ & incredible night skies were some of the higlights! The pool was, as you'd imagine, very popular indeed with our 3 & it is only a stones throw from the door, albeit via a locked gate, which is great security, as are the electric gates on the drive- it means that little ones can go for a wander, without constantly needing to be herded! Having said that, if you want a real sun-spot, the loungers by the side of the pool come highly recommended, whilst they are playing there. The kids were fascinated by the chickens too & loved helping collect eggs- Jane & Nigel were great with our kids & that really helps to takes the pressure off! Advice with beaches, restaurants, castles etc were excellent & every one we visited was superb for our needs. Overall, we couldn't recommend this property highly enough & Jane and Nigel are perfect hosts. We will definitely be going back!

We have just returned from a fabulous and relaxing week at La Basse Lande. Jane and Nigel could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful- Jane had kindly done some shopping for us, so after a long journey having food in the fridge and wine waiting for us was very welcome. The cottage is comfortable, brilliantly equipped and easily accommodated the 9 of us( a travel cot and stair gates were provided for our toddler). We were all able to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the children were happy making the most of the heated pool, trampoline and garden games. Thankyou Jane and Nigel, we hope to return and experience more of your hospitality. The Chuter family

Travelled with my partner and toddler for a week. This was the first family holiday, as opposed to just a self indulged couples break. It was just what we needed to spend quality time together away from work and other day to day distractions. Jane and Nigel are so lovely and welcoming it was like we had gone to stay with family. But you wouldn't know they were there, but if you needed them they were. The property itself is well maintained has character and charm, as you go in and out you catch the air of the roses around the door. There were more facilities than we have at our home! And when our tyre was looking flat Nigel kindly pumped it up. Location is perfect and you are within easy reach of pretty much everything. To pass this up is to miss out in our opinion. Hopefully when we have saved up again we will be back, I know our daughter would love to see you both again :)

Another great holiday at La Basse Lande. The new larger Pool is great and easily accommodated the whole family with room to spare, with chairs and loungers for those just wanting to catch the sun, great for growing children. As usual Jane and Nigel were wonderful hosts and the house was as comfortable as ever. This time we thought we would try something different and brought bikes. There are excellent "Velo Verte" routes nearby (20 to 30 mins) for any cyclists and very flat paths along canals for children. Thank you, and we hope to see you again soon for a 4th visit!

We can thoroughly recommend a stay at La Basse Lande having just thoroughly enjoyed a super 10 day stay there.
We wanted a holiday to recharge the batteries and totally unwind as my son and daughter had just finished their exams. La Basse Lande totally delivered and is a charming, cosy, comfortable and very well equipped gite. The private pool and decking area was a super bonus and a great place to enjoy some glorious French weather.
The gite is set in the countryside but numerous extremely picturesque towns and the Normandy and Brittany coast are within very easy reach. We immensely enjoyed our visit to Mt St Michel which was only about 30 mins away.
Jane and Nigel the owners are exceptional hosts and very much enhanced our stay.
We will stay again
