Restaurant - Le Croix d'Or

Traditional, quaint hotel in centre of Avranches with gourmet restaurant.

Mont St Michel - World Heritage Site

Le Mont St Michel is a popular tourist attraction and world heritage site - an impressive abbey on a rock island reached by a causeway whose origins date back over a 1000 years. Climb up narrow winding streets with shops and museums on either side. At the top is the abbey church known as La Merveille - the Marvel with its beautiful cloisters. Walk the ramparts and see the chefs making the famous "La Mère Poulard" omelettes then try the dish in the restaurant. Take a guided walk across the sands (14 kms bare feet!) and view the island of Tombelaine.

St Malo - walled city

Walled city of St Malo with state of the art aquarium at St Malo with a 360-degree view of marine life. Walk the ramparts - within the walls - intra muros - excellent shopping and restaurants.

Fine sandy beaches and safe waters for swimming. Enjoy shopping, open-air restaurants or wander around the yacht marinas. Take a day trip to Jersey or Guernsey or stay in St Malo to take in the colour, vibrancy and atmosphere of this delightful city. Boat cruises around the harbour and across the bay to Dinard for sandy beaches with its traditional stripy beach huts.

Champrepus - zoo

Lovely small zoo near Granville

Carolles, Julloville, Saint Pair sur Mer - beaches

In the Mont St Michel bay close to Granville - long sandy beaches as far as the eye can see - watch horses being trained for trotting racing - pulling a 2 wheeled cart called a 'Sulky' across the sands.
