We are a sociable couple who enjoy travel, both abroad and at home, walking our dogs, cycling, visiting markets, visiting sites of historical or natural interest, eating out and the fine wines of France. Over the years, we have stayed in many self-catering properties; our experiences have given us high expectations of holiday homes, which are reflected in Honeysuckle Cottage.

Until recently, we both worked in education, Nick as a Secondary Head and Pip as an English and Drama teacher.

|Why this location?||We bought the property which is a 300 year old stone farmhouse to semi-retire in a beautiful, tranquil location.
There are many places to visit, places to cycle and walk, good shops, markets and restaurants.
The house is in a little village with good access to a variety of places of interest and beaches. 30 min from Mont St Michel.
|Unique benefits of property||The property benefits from being spacious, characterful and in a peaceful setting surrounded by beautiful countryside, whilst having all of the advantages of a larger town 10 minutes away. The property is in a small hamlet consisting of 3 houses. There is a shop/bar/restaurant and a 12th century church approximately 1km away. There are lovely walks from the village.|
Great food and reasonably priced authentic French working lunch. 4 courses including plat du jour, wine or cidre and coffee for €12.50
Fabulous, iconic attraction close by.
Head for the old town for some fantastic shops and a bustling atmosphere.
Dinan is without doubt one of the most attractive and best preserved small towns in Brittany. With its 1.8 mile (3km)-long ramparts, half-timbered houses, attractive port and cobbled streets filled with art galleries and craft shops, it’s worth a day of anyone’s time.
Market on Wednesday morning, plenty of restaurants, indoor swimming pool with water slides etc.
We had a lovely stay at Honeysuckle Cottage in what is one of the best holiday lets we have been to anywhere. The Gite is extremely clean and well maintained, comfortably furnished with first class facilities, comfy beds and a huge garden. There are loads of nice touches - UK TV, plenty of books, board games and garden equipment. The welcome pack is amazing and the owners, Nick & Pip, are friendly and helpful. This is a perfect place to explore Brittany and Normandy. We will definitely be going back.
This is an immaculate cottage - probably the most well equipped we have visited in many years of holidays in France. The ‘welcome pack’ was exceptional - for us and for our dog - and the welcome from Nick and Pip friendly, helpful and professional. We followed an interesting and well signposted walk from the centre of the village through the lovely countryside with some far reaching views. We enjoyed the pool, the garden and the cottage for our short late summer break and would fully recommend it.
Thank you for such a kind and thoughtful review, as well as for leaving the gite so brilliantly clean.
We enjoyed a fantastic 10 night stay at Honeysuckle Cottage. After a lengthy journey we were greeted with a warm welcome from Nick & Pip. They kindly gave us some lovely supplies to get us started on our holiday! We thought this was a lovely touch. The accommodation had everything we needed and the upstairs was particularly quaint and beautiful. The added extra of having pool towels was really helpful particularly with three children. If the need to wash clothes arises it was available at €5 a wash. The grounds to the gite were extremely spacious and the children loved spending time in the pool and playing badminton. Lots of other games were available in the games shed as well to keep everyone entertained. The area was wonderful to explore and cycle in. Nick gave us excellent advice on beaches to visit and these were fantastic. The Gite boasted three lovely eating and relaxing areas so we were spoilt for choice. We had a fantastic holiday! Thank you both.
We are so glad you had such a fantastic holiday and it was great to see the children enjoying themselves so much in the garden.
We had a brilliant week at the gite. It was spotlessly clean had everything that we needed for our stay there. Nick and Pip were fantastic hosts, always willing to give us recommendations for things to do. The boys loved having the dogs around and it felt very homely. There was plenty to do to keep us busy and equally we were happy to spend a couple of days at the gite in and out of the pool and using the fantastic garden. A brilliant place to stay and spend time.
Thank you for such kind words, we really enjoyed having you and the boys stay in the gite. The dogs are missing them!
