About this property

Lovely Spacious Very French House But Not Isolated.. This villa is in a rural setting.

This will be our first year 2020 of renting out our house apart from to friends and family.. Hence the reason for no feedback. The property is in an idyllic and very French hamlet of some 14 homes in all. It is rural but not isolated. Nearest town is Fontenelle 1km and Antrian a 3 kilometres away. The house grounds consist of an open barn, orchard and woods, with a large lawned area in front and to the side of the main house. In all approx one plus acre. All approached through a driveway which is gated to the front lane. The house is made from locally cut grey granite and oak floors and beams. We have tried to keep it French in a farm character and not try to turn it into an English suburban house. We can all have that at home. Inside is an open farm kitchen leading to a dining area and open plan sitting room with stone and lime plaster walls.Also a walk in shower and wc
The first floor with one very large main bedroom and one smaller double room with a family bathroom.
New stairs lead to the second floor which is one open plan space with beams we use as a double room but could easily be made to accommodate more in its 70 sq mtr floor area. Maybe we will add another bedroom but not for now.
We have owned the house for 18 years and have taken it from its original condition which was pretty much unaltered from its original construction in 1810 to where we are now. We as a family and a now extended family use the house as a get away and holidays so you will find just about all you will need in the house. Ben and Francis who live on the next farm are on hand and also contactable should you need anything or simply French advice, they also manage most of the change over days for us.
There are logs available from Ben if required at additional cost, negotiate with him.
Also if needed and arranged by guests with Ben or Francis they can provide some cooked meals, but this can be discussed when you arrive and subject to agreement and costs with them direct.

Why this location? Beautiful area with many activities. Lots of historical towns in particular the Mont san Mitchell. Local fishing lakes together with wonderful walks and forests. Beaches within easy reach which is always a plus.

The property has great outdoor space.A small wooded area which children love and so do we, together with an orchard and large lawned areas perfect for relaxing with a drink or two.
