LA MAISON DE MARGUERITE: SLEEPS 5 PLUS COT
Our three cottages in a Breton Longere in a large enclosed garden, are in a friendly rural hamlet 2km from the two pretty and thriving villages of Noyal Muzillac and Le Guerno, a perfect location from which to explore the well known villages and towns of this unspoilt part of southern Brittany, and its coast.
Local amenities (1½ miles) include cafés, restaurants, créperie, general store, bakers, pharmacy, doctor, post office and tennis court. Swimming pool (5½ miles); water park at Surzur (12 miles) .Choice of large supermarkets and weekly markets at Muzillac (4½ miles) or Questembert (5½ miles).
We are under 2 hours from St Malo, 3 hours from Roscoff or Caen. Cheap flights are available to Nantes or Rennes, one hour away.
You can walk and cycle the quiet lanes around the gite, the 42km cycle path from Questembert, or the towpath of the Nantes-Brest canal. A 15 minute drive and you're at the beach for bathing, rockpooling, canoeing, sailing and windsurfing, less than that to the coastal footpath. France's favourite village 2016, Rochefort-en-Terre, and La Roche-Bernard (both 20 mins) are lovely small towns, and Questembert and Muzillac both under ten minutes away, also have weekly markets, shops and restaurants. Medieval Guerande, Vannes and the Golfe du Morbihan, are a short drive away, but there's no pressure to go anywhere, just put your feet up with a glass of wine and some fine French food, and relax, chez nous....
There are many events during the year - Vannes medieval festival in mid July, La Semaine du Golfe, a sailboat extravaganza held in the Golfe du Morbihan every two years; the medieval festival at Guérande; Jazz in Vannes, and dozens of local events for all tastes and ages.

We are Sue and Steve Chittenden, originally from North Devon, we moved to Brittany with our daughter in 2000, while our son was at university in Britain.
We came to France for a gentler and less hurried pace of life, to work together, and to see each other for longer than a few hours in the evening each day.
Sue enjoys travelling in Europe and further afield and Steve driving on racing circuits with his sports car when time permits.

|Why this location?||We live in a thriving part of Brittany, close to the coast where the climate and nearby attractions help us offer a good experience for our guests. The area is very popular with French holiday makers and unspoiled by large commercial development, however its prosperity has led to a very well-maintained infrastructure and thriving artisans and modern supermarkets.
Whilst only ten minutes from the coast, we also live only five minutes from one of Brittany's major attractions - The Chateau de Branféré wildlife park, and France's Favourite Village, Rochefort en Terre, is only fifteen minutes away.
We are very accessible from the UK, two hours from the St Malo ferry terminal, a little further to Roscoff, Caen or Cherbourg and two airports within one hour's drive.
|Unique benefits of property||Over half our guests have stayed with us before - many have returned many times, and much of each year is booked well in advance. We think that this is due to our location close to the coast in this flourishing part of Brittany, the quality of our gites and the garden, cleanliness, and the warmth of our welcome.|
Kervoyal beach (15 minutes) is the favourite for the locals, sandy and safe with rockpools. Pick mussels and oysters at low tide. There's a seafront walk overlooking the beach at Damgan, and a walk around the coast at Penerf, where you can buy live seafood on the little port.
The Branfere chateau wildlife park is famous throughout Brittany and only 3 km from the cottages. Its not a "zoo" and young and old love it.
There's a market in Muzillac each Friday and in an ancient oak market hall in Questembert on Monday, either is 10 minutes drive or less.
