The old, historical, beautiful towns of Dinan, Vannes and Rochefort-en-Terre are all also worth a visit and within a 1hr drive. Just a 1hr drive away are the south coastal beaches and ports, all reminiscent of the Cornish coast. The mysterious standing stones, 4000 of them erected during Neolithic times, 5000 - 2000 yrs BC lie in the town of Carnac. Carnac Plage also happens to be a popular seaside resort providing a good day out for all the family. Ploermel, 15 mins drive away, is a small haven for those loving watersports. waterskiing, sailing and boating are all available on this popular resort. Also find here a manmade beach, restaurant, small pool, park, golf, bowling and cinema. Supermarkets, shops and further restaurants are all closeby in Ploermel and Josselin.

The beautiful medieval town of Josselin is just 5 minutes drive away. Here you can view the fantastic château situated on the Nantes-Brest Canal. Bars, restaurants and shops are aplenty in this historical town. The locals welcome and cater for families with children of all ages and those looking for something a bit more grown up.

Do not miss the market in Josselin on Saturday mornings. It is most definitely worth a visit to view and share the French atmosphere.

Our party of 7 stayed at Maison de maître in August 2017. We found the property charming and
well-suited to our group, whose ages ranged from 13 to 83. My wife and I had the family attic
room. My mum had a nice large room on the first floor with a bathroom, which was ideal for
her; the four teenagers had their pick of the other rooms. The only thing which might have offered more flexibility to larger groups would have been one or two twin (rather than double) rooms.

The house is a solid building, roomy and well-equipped, with the large kitchen proving the
natural hub. It has huge beams and a fantastic old wooden staircase (slightly tricky to
navigate for those less able).

We enjoyed a hot sunny week, so we made full use of the pool. The garden was a peaceful place
to be, whether eating and drinking at the table, sitting in the shade of the patio umbrella or
sunbathing by the pool.

There are two supermarkets on the outskirts of Josselin, but if you needed to go to a
supermarket on a Sunday, you would need to drive ten miles to Ploërmel.

Josselin is a lovely town with some ancient timbered buildings and a handful of cafes in the
town square. A steep walk down from the town brings you to a bridge over the Nantes Brest
canal and a great view of the chateau.

There's not much in La Gree itself, with the only bar having closed years ago. We visited
Pontivy, Port St Louis & Vannes for a boat trip on the Gulf of Morbihan - all very nice.

We have just returned from a brilliant week away here. From the start we felt confident and relaxed with excellent communication from owners .
Location Is perfect for a relaxing break . Virtually everything has been thought of to make your stay easy. Lots for the children to do in the garden and pool with a well stocked games cupboard to keep everyone entertained.
The house is very comfortable with spacious bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen.
Highly recommend .

We were a family of grandad (me) and Grandma, son and daughter with spouses and 3 grandchildren, 2 of whom are autistic. The gite was perfect for us, plenty of bedrooms, shower rooms, cots, space and the garden was fabulous for the children with the 2 pools - also, the tree house and totally secure.
Can't praise the place enough, we all had a great and relaxed time - thank you Chris!!!
