Situated just 3 kilometres from the market town of Rostrenen which is known as the crossroads of Brittany due to its central position. Magourou therefore makes an ideal touring base to explore the whole of Brittany.
We are Robin and Gill Morgan and we moved to Magourou in 2005 after giving up our jobs in England to come to France and renovate Magourou. Our friends thought we were mad to take on such a project but after much hard work, we have achieved our goal! We are now living in the 'petit manoir' and have also fully renovated 2 cottages which we are offering for relaxing holidays in the breton countryside. We have lived here for many years now so know the area well and can recommend it!

|Why this location?||We think Magourou is a very special place. It is 50 acres of fields, tracks and woodland situated in the green and pleasant breton countryside. Not only that, the fields border the picturesque Nantes Brest canal, which is only one of it's unique features. We love walking and cycling along the towpath and along the country lanes through the local villages. It also appeals just as easily to birdwatchers, artists, fishermen...the list is endless. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found such a lovely location and we have worked hard to make it into an environment with 2 cottages which can be enjoyed by our visitors.|
|Unique benefits of property||As well as the beautiful surroundings of the private estate and the Nantes Brest canal, we have furnished and equipped the cottages to a very high standard which has been appreciated by all our visitors over the years. Whether you visit in the height of summer and are outside with a glass of wine or whether you have an out of season break sitting by the cosy log fire, then we guarantee you will relax and unwind.
But if you also want to explore Brittany, then we are situated literally in the centre of Brittany so an ideal spot for exploring the whole of the area.
Our local market town of Rostrenen is just 3 kilometres away so it's quick and easy to get to town for the morning croissants too.
Simply relax and enjoy tranquillity on a 50 acre private estate in the central Brittany countryside.
Creperies are a favourite over the whole region offering an imaginative range of savoury buckwheat galettes or sweet crepes. Of course the best way to enjoy these are together with a bowl of local cider.
Gentle strolls or rambling for the enthusiast along the picturesque canal towpath which borders the estate.
Traffic-free cycling along the canal towpath or the old railway line which is now a designated cycletrack. Ideal for children.
The unspoilt Nantes-Brest Canal is also perfect for a bird-watching and fishing holiday.
Magourou is situated just 3km from the market town of Rostrenen which is known as the crossroads of Brittany, due to its central position.
Patisseries are as good here as anywhere in France and Rostrenen's is one of the best in Brittany - so definitely worth a try!
Tuesday is market day in Rostrenen but it's possible to find a traditional market selling fresh produce locally every day of the week.
France of course is renowned for its cuisine and Brittany is no exception. Being a maritime race, seafood is a speciality not to be missed.
Rostrenen is a well serviced town with 3 supermarkets and several restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets.
