Very well described rural gite so no shops within walking distance however Baud is well stocked with shops and restaurants and a 15 minute car ride away. The property was clean and well cared for and the owners were on site to iron out any problems. We were well looked after by the owners who we saw on most days. They provided local information in the gite but also made recommendations on local markets, attractions etc. For our party of 9, 4 under 7, the property was ideal. We had lots of room in the house. We were lucky enough to have good weather so much use was made of the communal pool and our own private dip. There was plenty of room in the garden for the youngsters to run around. The Wendy house and swings were well used. In fact the younger members did not want to go anywhere else.
I would recommend this property for a large family especially with youngsters although there were plenty of walks /running routes for the more mature. You do need a car to get about. We had a very good meal, recommended by the owners iat The Cheval Blanc in Baud but there are plenty of other restaurants in the area. We made an expedition to a local lake that was well written up in the information but unfortunately it was being drained for maintenance at the time. Should be back to normal by 2016.
All in all a very good find with very helpful English owners.

Owner response

Thank you for you lovely comments. For further information for those reading the reviews: The local village is 3km from the accommodation, the town is 7km and there is a restaurant approximately 1.5km away. The town has three supermarkets, plenty of restaurants and excellent boulangeries and fish mongers!
