Gite Poire, Child Friendly Gite with Pool, near to Lake & Canal. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Situated right at the Heart of Brittany, Gites-de-Kerlun is ideally situated for viewing this magificent region. Only 5 minutes to Lac de Guerledan and it's beaches, and also the Nantes-Brest Canal; and with spectacular views to the forest of Quenecan you won't be disappointed with your location!
 
Changeover day is Saturday but we can offer midweek changeovers to make travel options cheaper for you (not available in July and August).
 
We have 2 gites one with 3 bedrooms and one with 4 bedrooms which are next door to each other and therefore perfect for extended families of up to 14 persons. Each one has a fully equipped modern kitchen/dining room and a separate lounge with UK freeview tv, video, music system, books and games as well as an outside furnished patio.
 
There is a communal bbq area and 4 acres for your enjoyment as well as a childrens play area with netted trampoline and badminton/volleyball, and petting animals which the kids love, cats, dogs, chickens, ouessant sheep, not forgetting Snowy the duck and her friends!
 
From your gite you can walk for miles or you could hire bikes locally for those pootling along the canal days!!
 
At the lake you can swim, water-ski, sail, kayak, fish or just laze on the beach or at the lakeside restaurant with a glass or 2 of wine. There are also waterbus trips on the lake as well as relaxing dinner cruises for that memorable experience. I could write all day of all there is to do, why not come yourselves and experience why so many people return! Golf and horse riding nearby.

Gite Poire has 2 doubles and 2 bunk bed rooms with full sized single bed bunks. An ideal gite for families or for friends wanting to share. Please note z-beds and cots available to put into rooms also.

Gite has UK freeview tv, music systems, videos books and games.
Outside there is a huge trampoline with guard, a seesaw, slide and swing set, as well as badminton and volleyball, other childrens toys a games room with table tennis, table football etc and 4 acres to run around in!

Each gite has its own private furnished patio and there is a communal bbq area as well as seating dotted around the premises to sit and enjoy the sun going down.

There is plenty of parking space to the side of the gites.

Evening Market

Friday afternoon/evening sees Mur de Bretagne come to life with its very colourful market. Every week there is entertainment with live music and the locals dancing, normally to Breton dances or more recently line dancing too, you're very welcome to join in! There is normally something going on for kids too like climbing or archery, for free!

Lake Festival

At Lac de Guerledan lakeside on the assumption weekend of August there is a festival of the lake with a huge bootsale, vintage car and bike show and free activities for the kids like water-skiing. It all comes to a head in the evening with a big fest noz (night festival) with Breton dancing and music played into the wee hours and a spectacular firework display over the lake.

Markets

On Sunday morning at the Abbey Bon Repos there is an artisan market where everything is home or handmade, it's very busy and has a wonderfull atmosphere. You can visit the Abbey and walk the canal, ending with a glass of local cider at the fairy-tale bar!

Son et Lumiere

The beginning of August sees a most fantastic performance at the Abbey Bon Repos (8km). It is held at night and takes you on a voyage of discovery through the ages of the abbey. There are hundreds of animals and people involved, all taking place outside; it is a show not to be missed, fantastic.
