Maison Bleue is situated in a small village in the south east of Brittany about 20 miles from the walled city of Vannes and a 10min drive to the pretty historic town of La Roche Bernard. The village has an Auberge serving traditional French food, a café/bar, 2 small supermarkets including butchery in the Votra Marche .There is also a Post Office and pharmacy and of course the all-important boulangerie! Like most French villages there is also a large church.
Last winter we added two en suite bathrooms which has been a great improvement. Our guests this year have really appreciated this especially when all bedrooms have been full.
The house sleeps 8 people with 3 double bedrooms upstairs, one en suite the other two sharing a family bathroom and another en suite bedroom downstairs adjacent to the large downstairs summer kitchen.The bedroom downstairs has a kingside bed which can be converted to a twin, it benefits memory foam mattresses. It also has a TV with video. There is also an extra z-bed available suitable for a child available at an extra £15/ week. Linen and towels are supplied free. Upstairs there is a large lounge with a verandah ideal for having your morning coffee or breakfast, and the main kitchen. In the lounge we have Freeview television and dvd player and the all important wi-fi! Downstairs in the summer kitchen there is a large built in woodburner, a double sink, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and a dresser and tv.
The downstairs summer kitchen leads to the garden where there is a large patio that opens to the garden with a 4.6m by10m solar heated swimming pool. There is an established mature garden with apple and plum trees. The pool is surrounded by a patio with sun loungers and tables, there is also a swing hammock to relax in. The pool is in the secure back garden and has a safety net when not in use.
Amenities – Freeview tv, dvd, play station, cd/ radio upstairs and downstairs, indoor/outdoor table tennis, use of beach bats and boule. In the boiler room there is a washing machine and an indoor line for drying. The house has oil-fired central heating. The cooker has a gas hob and electric oven with spit roast, also there is a microwave. There is a dishwasher in both kitchens saving time taking the garden dishes upstairs. There are fridge freezers in both kitchens.
We have wi-fi at the house!
Locally there is a great deal to see and do. The nearest beaches are about 20mins away at Damgen but we are in easy reach of many other beaches including Carnac, Penestin and St Nazaire (the Riviera of the north). There are many historic towns close by such as Josselin and Rochfort en Terre both boasting Chateaux. Branfrere, a zoo and botanical garden in La Guerno (about 3 miles away), is a super day out with animals wandering around the park and ropewalks in the trees for those feeling agile. The Monkey Tree Park is on the way to Guerande this being a massive adventure tree park with varying degrees of difficulty for those feeling energetic. Guerande is a beautiful walled town famous for its salt, you can visit the salt fields in the surrounding countryside. In this town there are many restaurants including creperies, and lots of shops selling everything from pottery to chocolates to local arts and crafts. Most of the local towns have markets each week selling everything from locally produced foods to clothes and crafts always a treat to wander around.
There are plenty of restaurants and creperies in the local vicinity. We have a folder with suggested places to eat with comments from visitors.
Kitchen with gas hob electric oven (with spit). Dishwasher. Well equipped with most kitchen utensils and equipment including microwave, coffee-machine, electric whisk/food processor and a slow cooker.
Table to seat 6 people. Fridge-freezer and large range of electrical kitchen equipment.
There is also a dishwasher and small fridge freezer downstairs in the lower kitchen area and tables and chairs to seat up to 12 people and a settee/sofabed . The downstairs kitchen also gas TV.
Spacious living room double aspect french windows with balcony over looking front garden. Tv with Freeview dvd and cd player. Various boardgames. Table and chairs on the balcony.
Free wi-fi is available at the house.
Three bedrooms on same floor as lounge and kitchen one en suite, the other 2 sharing a family bathroom , one en suite bedroom on ground floor adjacent to large ground floor room. All rooms are double rooms, 2 with double beds(one king size with a memory foam mattress)one with twin beds and the ground floor has a king/ twin bed.
Linen and fluffy towels are supplied free. Please bring your own beach towels! Z-bed available for a child at £15/ week extra.
One family bathroom with bath integral shower with screen. Wash basin, bathroom cabinet and bidet.
Two further en suite bathrooms were added the winter of 2015 ,upstairs has a bath with shower and downstairs is a shower room with toilet and basin that also opens onto the patio for use when outside.
Large fluffy towels are supplied free, but please bring beach towels as these bathroom towels are not for the garden or beach!

Large front and enclosed rear garden. Rear garden has patio with dining table and umbrella. Solar heated swimming pool ,patio with sunloungers and small tables, hammock and table tennis which can be outdoors or used in garage or downstairs kitchen.
Swimming pool has a safety net. The back garden is surrounded by fencing and locked gates, which must be kept locked at all times.Webber bbq for use on the patio.
Boule area across road opposite the house.
Ample parking in front of house. One garage under front of house
Not really suitable for less abled people as there are steps to the front door and main living area, but it is flat to the downstairs kitchen and en suite bedroom via the side gate and a ramp to the backdoor, with steep internal stairs via the garage to lounge and upstairs kitchen.
You are welcome to bring your DOGS with you, but there is a charge of £20 per dog per week extra payable with the final payment, remember the pet travel scheme.

A non returnable 25% deposit of the balance after HFD booking fee has been paid, is requested at the time of booking to secure the booking, this is payable direct to the owners.
A returnable deposit of £250 to cover breakages, is payable to the owners ,in addition to the final payment which is due one month before arrival. After inspection of property on your departure the above deposit will be returned provided no damage or breakages have occurred.
We live in Cornwall and enjoyed holidaying in Brittany so much we decided to buy our own house there about 10 years ago. We have had many wonderful holidays there and now hope others can it enjoy it too. This year (2015)we are adding two ensuite bathrooms to upgrade the property and hope everyone enjoys their time in Maison Bleue.

|Why this location?||Peaule is in a lovely part of Brittany close to the next department. It is easy to get to many different areas around Peaule including the coast and many interesting towns and countryside. The village has all the local amenities needed to make living there great, a boulangerie, two small supermarkets one including a deli and butchers,bar, resturant, pharmacy and Post Office but is still small enough to retain its quaintness. There are many good walks around and cycle rides, the next town Muzillac has 2 large supermarkets and most surrounding villages have weekly markets|
|Unique benefits of property||Maison Bleue sleeps 8 comfortably with two ensuite bathrooms added the winter of 2015.There is a large downstairs kitchen ,with a log burner, leading out to the patio by the solar heated pool. One ensuite room is downstairs,with access to the patio via the en suite. Upstairs there is a large lounge with English freeview tv, dvd player and wi-fi. Two of the upstairs bedrooms share the family bathroom, the other being en suite.|
A nice day out see zoo life, countryside and picnic
Damgan and Billiers are the nearest beaches. Penestin, is with in easy reach, a popular French summertime beach. Also slightly further a field warranting a day trip is Carnac beach, which also has the historic standing stones and an amazing ice cream shop, Igloo, with over 50 flavours of ice cream. Further south La Baule and St Nazaire with huge sweeping sandy beaches the French riviera of the north
The Morbihan is renowned for good golf and has many excellent golf courses within easy reach of Maison Bleue
Walled town close to the salt flats. Plenty of shops and creperies
Definitely worth a visit, this medieval town has a typical French Chateau/castle built in the 12th century. Many shops and restaurants to pass the time of day
Situated on the Nantes-Brest Canal. Ideal for easy cycling east or west
Everything from basic creperies for lunch or light evening meal (Creperie St. Vincent, Vannes) to Cordon Bleu cooking. There is a Michelin starred restaurant in Questembert 5 miles from Maison Bleue. L'auberge, St Anne d'Auray is excellent for a special occasion with a €42 menu consisting of 3 course with musee bouches in between courses. La Roche Bernard 3 miles away has several good quality restaurants including a Chateau Relais
Petite Cite de Caractere. Plenty of shops and restaurants and a chateaux to visit.
Historic city of Vannes was founded 2000 years ago a beautiful walled town with interesting architecture. It has markets on Wednesday and Saturdays.
This House is a slice of Heaven. It is at the edge of a lovely little village that has a fantastic boulangerie (bakery) and very friendly residents
With Muzillac but a 10 min drive away you have a great super market and other amenities whilst staying on the edge of the idyllic French countryside
The local area has much to offer in the form of beautiful little villages to explore, family attractions, markets and Chateau’s galore
The house itself is well set out, with plenty of space and a swimming pool in a large garden with a summer kitchen for ease
To get away from it all whilst still having plenty to do if you fancy it, I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough

We had a wonderful week in Peaule with our 7 children. They absolutely loved the pool which is bigger than it looks in the photos (though a tad cold😝). We also had great fun improving our table tennis skills. The house was very roomy and teatowels/dish cloths/ washing up liqyid/washing tablets etc were all provided so we needn't have taken our own.
Peaule is very pretty though there isn't a great deal there. However, if you have transport there is loads to do in the surrounding area. The owners were also very helpful each time we needed to communicate with them. All in all you won't regret picking this property for your holiday 😊

The gite is typically French and lies in a lovely secluded spot on the edge of a very nice village. The property itself was very roomy for the eight of us and the recent addition of two en suites was much appreciated. The garden is a sun trap with birdsong and a very welcome pool. After a day out we (and particularly the grandchildren) were very happy to return to the garden where we ate out every evening, using the barbecue more than once.
All three generations enjoyed the holiday immensely and found the advice in the information book very useful. The whole area is relatively quiet with some very pretty villages.The sea is also only a short distance away. There are many places to eat and we were not disappointed with any of them.
The owners Andrew and Jane couldn't have been more helpful and located closer to the property are Penny and Julian who keep the pool in good order and can help out if you have any questions.
As my wife and I organised the trip we were delighted to receive unsolicited compliments about the holiday from our children and feel sure that anyone using the property would have a really good time.

The house was perfect for us, clean and spacious with a relaxed French feel. The large enclosed garden was great for our two dogs giving them a chance to relax in the sun too. The village is close enough to walk to for supplies, meal in the restaurant and the occasional drink in the bar.
Plenty of interesting local areas to visit within a short car journey.
I would highly recommend this property anyone. We hope to return again.
