My only complaint about this beautiful place is that the photos don’t do the place justice in any way, shape or form! They’re slightly outdated in that the lounge area now has an incredibly comfortable settee that will seat 8!
The owners have clearly read the past reviews and changed all they can to make future guests stays better!
Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners who,had immaculately cleaned the house from top to bottom! We were given a tour (there’s also an info packed folder) I don’t think there’s a single photograph on this website that actually does anything justice (ok,maybe the pool,WHICH IS NOW HEATED 27•C)If you like what you see in the pics, you will love what you see in person!
There are 3 doors leading into the front of the cottage,in the bedroom,in the dining room & our chosen door to use, the kitchen! Every room is huge! The kitchen has a full size fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing & coffee machine, this is where the WiFi box can be found.Upstairs is the lounge, with a further 2 bedrooms and bathrooms off and another staircase leading up to the single beds pictured. There are lots of safety features with young children in mind here,ie the oven has a child lock. There are no safety gates though (but to us that was a good thing:)
Owners very discrete, you see them if you need them, otherwise not at all. We LOVED the place! Missing some essential utensils for full cooking. Take some with you and perfect home!
Thanks for fab time!
We enjoyed a two week holiday with one week of glorious weather and the second not so hot
The swimming pool was great for our granddaughter (12) who spent most of her time in it
The gite had everything we needed and was located well for travelling around Brittany
The only thing missing was a bar nearby to walk to but plenty to choose from in Malestroit all in all a very pleasant holiday.
Excellent property in a quiet location but very accessible to some beautiful towns and countryside.
One of the reasons for booking this property was the swimming pool and we weren't disappointed, particularly as the daytime temperature was in the low 30'sC.
Lovely stone house as well with plenty of room. Highly recommended.
The setting is idyllic. We thoroughly enjoyed out 2 weeks in this beautiful, quiet and rural Brittany setting. The owners (who are literally at the bottom of the garden) were lovely and very helpful when needed, and did not intrude at all. We cannot fault them. However, I would provide the following caution if taking small children:
- We did struggle with the cottage layout (my kids are aged 2 and 6) - there is no lounge area or separate toilet downstairs (other than the en suite attached to the downstairs bedroom). The layout of the upstairs bedrooms was also not ideal as the rooms were too far away from each other (especially if you need to tend to them during the night). The space downstairs is huge - and definitely room enough to make into a living room area. I couldn't leave the children upstairs unattended.
- The swimming pool does not have a shallow end and a deep end - it is a uniform 5ft deep. I didn't realise this until my 6 year old had jumped in and couldn't touch the bottom (there are no signs) - fortunately he can swim!
- WiFi is essentially non-existent; we were only able to link to it when sat on the decking area at the back of the house. This was fine in the great weather we had, but you will struggle if its wet. The router sits in the adjoining holiday cottage, but the walls are so thick, its untraceable anywhere else in the house.
- The beams truly make the character of the house, but beware - at 5'7" I struggled with height of the ones upstairs
