Nicely appointed gites with private heated pools. We stayed in both gites for a week each over a two week period.
The larger gite:
Beautiful features and felt very large and spacious. The bedrooms each had en-suite bathrooms with plenty of hot water on tap all day long. The pool and decking area had a good amount of sun light and there was a barbecue.
Nice features with a modern finish. Very spacious and would easily accommodate a large family of 6.
Nice modern outside patio with very warm pool. Again on tap hot water and three bathrooms. Presented good value for money.
The area the gites were set in was very quite, no more than the occasional owl hoot in the evening so perfect for a peaceful nights sleep.
The local village of Ruffiac had the basic amenities, but we vetoed it and went to Malestroit which had a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets.
Joanne and Paul were good hosts and given that the supermarkets close early on Sundays the milk and orange juice provided on arrival was a nice touch.
Will no doubt book and stay again!
The gite is in an idyllic setting with a pretty garden and wonderful countryside views beyond. Whilst the property is attached there is great privacy, which was important to us especially when using the pool and terrace; we loved the heated pool. We have stayed in a number of gites but this is by far the best maintained and cleanest gite property, which together with the well equipped kitchen helped to make our stay a real home from home experience. The owners, Joanne and Paul, are lovely people and are so welcoming and helpful.
The gite is an area with many historic and beautiful towns with great markets, cafes and restaurants, the closest of which is Malestroit; Rochefort-en-Terre and Josselin are also definitely places to visit. The gite is close to Ruffiac village, a short drive or cycle away, which has a good range of amenities e.g small supermarket and a Boulangerie. The gite is also ideally located to make the most of the beautiful countryside, from leisurely walks along the Nante- Brest canal or is we did cycle, and there are also a number of cycle ways (voie verts) to enjoy. If you love shopping and want to visit a big town Vanne is a must, it’s beautiful too! This is an area that seems to have something for most people, young or older!
We loved our holiday, feeling both invigorated and relaxed, we will be back.
Really lovely cottage. The pool was cold which made it difficult for our young children to enter. This would not put me off as we really enjoyed the trip.
Highly recommend for families.
