Le Val is a small hamlet of about 20 houses. Les Châtaignes is a new privately owned property, surrounded by oak and chestnut trees. Wildlife of all types is abundant. Truly a place to relax and get away from it all with delightful strolls down to the River Vilaine.
The Sail Loft is a self contained apartment, (converted garage), that enjoys fabulous views across the water meadows to the River Vilaine from the upstairs studio lounge/bedroom with en suite bathroom. Downstairs has a shower room and wc, and fully fitted galley kitchen.The garden room is principally for summer time use. Although Ideal for couples there is room for a cot for a baby.
The hamlet is about 8km from the nearest small town of Saint Dolay and 12km from the ancient town of La Roche Bernard with many restaurants, shops and a large supermarket. A typical French market is held there on Thursday mornings. There are many walks and cycle rides in the vicinity of Le Val. The nearest beach is at Pénestin, 28km away, and the beautiful resort of La Baule is about 40km, where windsurfing, sailing, swimming and a new market hall and shops can be enjoyed.
Although normal usage of water and electricity are included, linen hire and final cleaning services are available at extra cost.

There are various beaches for swimming and water sports. The closest is Penestin about 30 minutes away. The glorious resort of La Baule with its safe sandy beach is just 40 minutes. La Baule is famous for its chic shops and cafes and now boasts a new market hall.
Just laze around at les Chataignes, stroll down to the river, or enjoy the garden, BBQ and local wines that you have purchased!
For golfers the well known Chateau de la Bretesche is just 20 minutes away. Tennis and golf are also available at La Baule and other towns around.
The ancient port of La Roche Bernard has many restaurants, shops and a market on Thursdays. Around “the vieux quartier” there are detailed descriptive walks. All types of river trips and sports – from canoes to restaurant cruises.
There are numerous walks (some way marked), cycling and horse riding, in and around Le Val and the small town of Saint Dolay. A haven for bird watching, fishing and wildlife!
