This picturesque watermill is set in 6.5 acres of a tranquil park-like garden. A gentle stream flows through it. The natural woodland surrounding the garden provides complete privacy. Perfect for relaxing in peace and quiet in beautiful natural surroundings, without any overlooking neighbours.
There is plenty of peaceful parkland lawn space for ball games, outdoor playing, kite flying, and a place for children to run around and explore.
The watermill is in a rural setting. If you are looking for peace and tranquility in beautiful natural surroundings, this is the place to unwind.
There is off-road parking for many cars and a long drive.
From the Tranquil Water Mill, it takes just a few minutes to walk to the Blavet River. The Blavet River's 50 kilometers of towpath allows for leisurely walks along the canal and provides a good cycling path. Near the property, it's possible to hire canoes/kayaks for use in the Blavet River.
Beautiful sandy beaches are about a 25 minutes drive away (Lamor Plage, Garves Beach, Carnac Beach, Guidel, Locmariaquer, etc), where a host of beach and sporting activities can be found.
The Camors Forest is close by, where there are many ancient sites, walking and cycling paths. The Camors Adventure Park provides exciting entertainment for youngsters.
There are numerous historical sites, museums, beautiful natural sites, sea, lake and river attractions etc.
It is the main house of the Tranquil Water Mill that is for rental. The entire park-like garden is for your use.
The kitchen has a large, full size, double door fridge-freezer, dishwasher, oven, 4 plate hob, grill plate and microwave. The washing machine is in the 1/2 bathroom downstairs.
There is a dining area with a dining room table and 6 seats. An outside table and 8 outside chairs are also provided, for enjoying meals outside in the lovely garden.
The living room has a large granite fireplace, 2 armchairs, double couch, and coffee-tables.
The Tranquil Water Mill sleeps 6 comfortably. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs. The extra large main bedroom has a double (king size) bed and an en suite bathroom (with shower). The other 2 bedrooms upstairs have 2 single beds in each of the bedrooms. The family bathroom upstairs has a bath/shower. (If required, the Tranquil Water Mill can sleep up to 8 upstairs. The main en suite bedroom is huge and, if requested in advance, it is possible to add 2 additional single beds into the master bedroom). Linen and bathroom towels are provided, but please bring your own beach/swimming towels.
There are 2 bathrooms upstairs and a 1/2 bathroom downstairs (toilet + basin). The one upstairs bathroom is a family bathroom with bath/shower + toilet + basin + below-basin cabinet. The other bathroom upstairs in the main en suite bathroom with shower + toilet + basin + below basin cabinet.
There is a woodburner in the granite fireplace in the sitting room. If needed, in winter - central heating is also available.
The huge garden provides a wonderful area for children to play and adults to relax in privacy.
It is possible to fish in the stream running through the garden.
Bikes are available and there are also plenty of walking and cycling areas which are close to the property. The tow path running next to the Blavet River is a 5 minute walk away from the property. Kayaks can also be hired within an 8 minute walk from the property.
The extensive parkland grounds provide a place for children to play and run off steam.
For very young children, parents will need to be aware that there is a small stream running through the property and parents need to take the usual precautions relating to water and young children.
Due to its size, the property is unfenced and surrounded mostly by forests and there is a public road at the end of the long driveway. Sections of the land drop away by the old mill and along the ancient mill track at the rear of the property. There are three covered wells in the property.
There is plenty of off-road parking.
There is plenty of space for parking and the property is not overlooked by neighbours.
The huge garden is perfect for pets to run around in. Please note the large 6.5 acres of park-like garden is unfenced. In the garden, there is also a large kennel with an enclosed run area.
A cot and highchair are available. Please let us know in advance if you do need these, or other baby/toddler equipment.
Free unlimited wi-fi internet access is available in the main house.
Carnac has good beaches for swimming, a long promenade next to the beach and its centre is set up for the tourist in summer with many interesting shops and eating places. Carnac is also famous for its important site in the Ancient World - the Megalithic stones which run for miles and some say are better than Stonehenge!
Over the summer there are also a number of local festivals including the large InterCeltic Festival.
Locmariaquer is a gorgeous peninsula, with several small port areas and lovely beaches, numerous megalithic sites - take a boat cruise to explore the numerous islands in the Golfe de Morbihan.
Local markets include: Auray, Baud, Bubry, Carnac, Hennebont, Quistinic, Plouay, Vannes, Lorient etc.
There are many nearby medieval and historic towns (e.g. Josselin, Auray, Rochefort-en-Terre, La Glacilly) and tourist attractions (e.g. ancient villages [i.e. Poul Fetan, Melrand An Mil]; Museum of the Breton Resistance; Dutch East Indie Company Museum; Bicycle Museum, Salmon Farm, Crafts at Pont Scorf; National Haras, and numerous animal farms and zoos). Pontivy, Josselin, and Vannes are attractive and well preserved medieval towns. Auray has quaint cobbled streets, excellent shops, and a picturesque harbour area. La Trinité Sur Mer is a beautiful yachting town which is buzzing in summer.

Drive on to the Quiberon Peninsula along the wild "Cote Sauvage" on the Atlantic side. There are many pretty villages as you drive around the peninsula. On Quiberon's leeward side relax on the beaches with calmer water.
The Blavet River is famous for its fishing. On the river there are pedaloes, kayaking and a sightseeing boat. Within several minutes driving distance there are various attractions, including: go-karting; heated swimming pool with watersports facilities; forest adventure park; tennis courts; and water sports in the largest lake in Brittany. The area is wonderful for ramblers, bird watchers, golfers and there are spectacular beaches and islands to visit that are not too far away.
