A charming 2 bedroom Breton cottage on the outskirts of the village of Plumeliau in a pretty, secure garden
It has been recently renovated and provides a very comfortable holiday home with the rustic charm retained in the exposed beams and granite fireplace.
At the rear of the cottage, overlooking the garden is a south facing patio with barbecue where you can relax and enjoy the long summer evenings. This is an ideal garden for small children as it is enclosed and set to lawn. The minor road that leads to the village has little traffic and the location is quiet. You will find 2 excellent boulangeries in the village, supermarkets, bar and restaurants.
Central heating and a log stove make this a cosy cottage out of season too.
The location is ideal for exploring the south coast with sandy beaches such as kerhilio and rocky coves at Quiberon.
More outdoor pursuits - all within 45 minutes of the cottages.
Walking - there are numerous well-marked paths through forests, along the coast and rivers
Fishing - all types of angling is catered for and daily or weekly permits are available.
Horse riding - stables can be found near Bieuzy le foues Eaux, Camors, Pontivy.
Skateboarding - a park can be found in Hennebont.
Tree climbing - in the adventure forest at Camors. A lot of fun for the fit and energetic.
Cycling - (all ages) from gentle Blavet River towpaths, through quiet country lanes and villages to marked trails
Alternatively there are the safe sandy beaches at Lake Guerledan, boat trips and watersports.
The rich architectural and archaeological heritage provide for excellent one-day tours; the fascinating towns of Pontivy, Josselin, Dinan, Vannes, Auray...are full of historical interest, good shops and excellent restaurants and creperies.
The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and fridge-freezer and has a dining table and chairs.
There is comfortable settee and armchairs and a log stove.
There ia a double bedroom and a twin bedroom.
The bathroom has a shower, wc and hand basin.
Central heating and log fire.
The garden is very pretty with a lawn and flower beds.
Parking is off the road.
Unfortunately the cottage is not suitable for impaired mobility but is child-friendly.

The rich architectural and archaeological heritage provide for excellent one-day tours; the fascinating towns of Pontivy, Josselin, Dinan and Vannes are full of historical interest. Then, of course, there are the megaliths, churches and for the stout-hearted there's the 'quest for the Holy Grail' and the Arthurian legend. To the south, a short traffic-free drive away, is the beautiful Golfe du Morbihan, a yachtsman's paradise, with all manner of water-sports and numerous little islands to visit on the regular ferries. Or just relax in the sunshine on an endless choice of beautiful beaches.
Activities for the Family
A Variety of Things to See and Do!
kERBRUANT is a perfect base from which to enjoy the many attractions which Morbihan offers; the peace and charm of the Blavet Valley with its sleepy villages and historic buildings, the south coast (45mins) with its beaches and watersports, the idyllic islets in the inland sea of the Golfe du Morbihan, walks in the ancient woods of Lac du Guerledan For local amenities the cottage is approximately 15 mins from the historic town of Pontivy where you will find supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Plumeliau, a short walk, is our local village; a friendly place to buy bread and croissants and fresh oysters every Sunday morning, when in season. It also has a very good creperie/pizzeria La Forge .. St Nicholas des Eaux (15 mins), a charming village on the Blavet River, offers two restaurants, creperies and bars as well as river cruises and kayaking. The children will love tree climbing at the Adventure Forest near Camors These, with the chateaux, museums, restaurants and a steady passage of pardons, fetes and fest noz, will, we think, ensure a varied and enjoyable holiday for all the family.
The cottage is delightful with ample space, facilities and a large, mature garden. Lack of Wi Fi didn't prove to be a huge issue for us. Local village was easily accessible by bike/on foot and all staff in the shops were friendly and helpful. There is lots to see and do in the wider area and we enjoyed the bike rides along the river/canal banks of the Blavet and the beautiful local towns of Vannes and Auray.
In terms of improvements, a better shower might be helpful?
We Stayed for a week at Kerbruant near Plumeliau.
We had a wonderful week and very much enjoyed the gite, the local village and the surrounding area.
We visited the local bistro La Forge a couple of times, the food was delicious and the hosts were very friendly.
Everyone we met was very friendly and I would have no hesitation in recommending Kerbruant to any one.
This little cottage is a real little gem. As soon as we arrived we felt at home. The mature garden and very well equipped cottage was even better than the website photos. The whole package was just what we wanted. The garden would be ideal for small children offering a safe playground for them to run around etc. After driving down from Le Havre we made a cuppa and sat in the garden listening to the bird song- perfect! The cottage itself was spotless and filled with every amenity you would need - a TV, books, large collection of CDs, games and enough crockery to host dinner for the entire town! Plumeliau was a friendly little town and an ideal base to explore Brittany. The town had all the amenities we required with two excellent bakers (within a few minutes walk) and both a local convenience store and a supermarket (with fuel). The Forge Creperie/Pizza restaurant was very friendly and offered a wide choice. All in all the cottage delivered in every way and we would highly recommend it.
