Enjoy your holiday in comfort. Our gite is spacious and suited for families, couples and individuals.
We have tried to offer everything that we would want from a gite at prices that are as low as possible and without any extra charges. So, after you arrive and park outside on the quiet lane you will walk into the light and airy large modern lounge/diner and kitchen area.
The gite is situated in a small friendly hamlet in the the heart of the Brittany countryside. Yet it is only 10 minutes from the popular tourist town of Josselin with its selection of restaurants, weekly street market, supermarkets, canal and chateau. The local village of Mohon is only a couple of minutes' drive from the gite and has a local small grocery store, boulangerie and bar.
From the gite it is easy to reach south coast beaches and a range of countryside activities via the fast toll free main roads. St Malo is only about 90 minutes away. The many local tourist activities include the Brest-Nantes Canal, Lac au Duc, Lac Guerledan, La Gacilly, Rochefort-en-Terre and Vannes. There are many marked cycle routes in the area around the property. We can also offer links with various local craft people for anyone interested in activities of this kind. We can offer separate secure storage if you want to bring your own bikes.
All towels and linen, apart from bedding for the cot, are included in the price. These are changed weekly.
There is a good mobile phone signal. The gite has French type electrical sockets but we supply UK type adaptors.
We also provide a welcome pack for you which includes a bottle of wine, tea, coffee, milk and sugar to help start off your holiday.
We are sorry but we do not accept pets and ask guests not to smoke in the gite.
We moved to Brittany in 2014 to take early retirement and live for part of each year in the adjacent part of the property with our golden retriever. We would be very happy to help anyone considering buying a property in this beautiful area.
We normally ask guests to leave by 10:00 and not to arrive before 15:30 but again will be flexible whenever possible.
We charge a 25% non-refundable deposit with the balance of the total due 6 weeks from the start date of your booking. Payment can be made directly into our UK bank account in sterling.
The fitted kitchen has a gas hob and electric fan assisted oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, toaster, coffee-maker and electric kettle. There is no shortage of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment and there is a separate pantry.
In the lounge/kitchen/diner you can watch UK freesat tv, a dvd or browse the fast reliable free internet. There are 2 settees and easy chairs. We are sorry but there is no access to French tv channels because of recent broadcasting arrangement changes.
Meals can be taken at the 6 place pine farmhouse table with matching chairs.
Upstairs you can relax in the large south facing bedrooms.
Two have double beds (one is king size) and one has 2 single beds.
Each bedroom has a wardrobe, chest of drawers, easy chair, bedside tables with lights and full length mirrors.
There is a first floor shower room with modern walk in shower and wc and also a ground floor wc
All rooms have electric heaters and the lounge has an efficient wood burning stove.
In addition to the freesat UK tv, free fast wi-fi and dvd player there are plenty of adult and childrens books and indoor and outdoor games to keep everyone occupied. There is even a pond at the end of the lane with free fishing (subject to having a licence).
Outside and across the quiet lane you can sit in sun or shade in either of the guests' two garden areas. One has a secure gate to keep younger children safe. There is a bbq and boules court. An initial bag of charcoal and boules are supplied.
There is ample parking outside on the lane.
The gite also has a highchair, wooden cot and travelcot (mattresses available) and stairgate.
We are sorry but it has not been adapted for physically disabled guests.
We moved to Brittany in 2014 to take early retirement from our jobs in teaching children with a range of special needs and social care. We live in the adjacent part of the property with our golden retriever. This has entirely separate garden areas but we are available if you need any assistance. We can also offer links with various local craft people for anyone interested in activities of this kind.

Having been through some of the issues of moving to France we would be very happy to

We run gites in the North of France and were looking to get away for a quite week to recharge oursleves, now that the busy season is coming to a close. We searched for somewhere we could get to in about 4-6hrs drive and also in a quite environment. We found this wonderful quite peaceful place near Mohon in Brittany. Booking was easy and the communication and directions from the owners were excellent, which made it a stress free drive and arrival.
The owners were away when we arrived (we were aware of this prior to our arrival) but they had left everything prepared and notes with their contact details to make sure we did not have any worries. On their return they were very welcoming and friendly, and Lynn made us a lovely cake, which we very much appreciated.
We had a very restful week at this haven of peace. The gite was well furnished and equipped.
Bed very comfortable, we slept so well, we found it difficult to get going in the mornings.
The hamlet in which the gite is situated is peaceful and quite, we woke every morning to the sound of birds.
The area has a lot to offer, we visited Josselin, Carnac to see the standing stones, Vannes and the beautiful town of Rochefort-en-Terre. Thanks to the Lynn and Kevin for telling us about this beautiful town, well worth the drive. there were plenty of restuarants in Josselin fordining out.
We would definitely recommend the gite to family or friends, excellent value and was such a welcome break for us. tom and daphne
