Why this location? We love the country life but also, it's easy access to historic towns, restaurants, bars, and the beautiful rugged Breton coast, sandy beaches and the islands.

La Chaumette is exactly as advertised and is a great location for a quiet family holiday. The cottage itself is an older French country building with all that that can be expected to bring and we found it very pretty and very comfortable. The key attraction for us was the country setting and sole use of its small swimming pool; it was perfect for us and exactly what we were looking for. Facilities are basic, but all that you need; washing machine, dish washer, tv/dvd, wifi, BBQ outside seating etc. There is plenty to do, especially if you are prepared to drive 30 to 40 minutes or so to the bigger towns/cities, but if not, there is plenty to do closer in, including Kingoland which is a small theme park and our kids (11 and 6) loved it. The owners were lovely and very helpful and can point you in the right direction for things to do and a bit of local knowledge. Bottom line, its a great cottage in the country and we had a great time!

Beautiful house in stunning location. Endless walks from the door in fantastic Breton countryside. Loved those Morning walks with the dog, coming back to the boys messing about in the pool. Plenty of places to visit..from historic old towns..vannes a particular great the bustle of lorient. Angela and roger great hosts..always helpful but never intrusive. Couldn’t recommend it more..a perfect holiday😀

Simply amazing place! Spacious and beautifully restored with loving care and incredible attention to detail. Everything was as advertised including the private heated pool. The accommodation is peaceful and a good distance from busy areas yet a great starting off point for all the great places in Brittany. We visited 9 different magical places in our 2 weeks and spent a few days chilling by the pool. However the biggest revelation of the all was The Blauvet the river that runs at the end of the drive that has a fantastic bar about a mile away and from which you can walk and cycle across the region. In Roger and Angela you also have the perfect hosts who helped us out when the had failed to bring anything with us or managed to get to a supermarket and although the left us alone for the most part they were great company and guides for a perfect holiday.
