|Year property purchased||1998|
|Why this location?||We love the area because of the relative ease of access from the Channel ports and the warmer weather of Southern Brittany. The Southern beaches are particularly fine and can be reached in 35 to 40 minutes. We enjoy the Blavet valley for its countryside, river and long distance tow path for walking/cycling. We have owned the house for 18 years and have been renting it out in the summers for over 12 years.|
|Unique benefits of property||The lovely large windows and high ceilings mean that even on cloudy days there is plenty of light coming into the rooms. We particularly enjoy the peaceful location and privacy afforded by a large garden and seclusion of the pool. the surrounding roads are very quiet and give a great view of surrounding countryside.|
Les Châtaigniers provides a central holiday location from which many parts of the Department of Morbihan can be reached easily including the beaches from L'Armor Plage to Guidel Plage (35-40 mins) and a little further away at Carnac and the Quiberon peninsula. in addition there are nearby historic towns including: Josselin. Grand Château, medieval town on Nantes-Brest Canal, Port Louis Citadel and Museum of the French East India Company, Vannes walled city, aquarium etc. Carnac has the world famous megalithic stones which are worth a day trip but for something more modern and nearer by there are a number of weekly markets in nearby towns.
Was a lovely property e a rly what it said on the website would highly recommend to others.
