The gite shares the land with the large manoir where the owners live. There is just one other gite on the site.
Papillon is a recently fully renovated gite situated in the heart of beautiful rural countryside, surrounded by trees and fields.
Whilst retaining its rural setting, Papillon is only 1 mile from the village of Guern, where there is a patisserie selling fresh bread and groceries. There are also a couple of bars in the viilage.
You can walk to the village directly from the gite on tracks leading to the lovely village of Quelven.
The gite provides a perfect base to explore the local area. Take a drive to Josselin and see the Saturday market, not to be missed.

Visit the Saturday market which spreads throughout the town. One of the best markets to see.
The largest lake in Brittany. There are beaches, restaurants, and lovely walks.
Pontivy is our local town and is approx. 7 miles from the gite. Good restaurants, shopping and there is the Canal Blavet which flows through the centre.
About 40 minutes car drive, Vannes is a must see. Walk round the ancient walls or dine in one of the many waterfront restaurants.
There are great walks directly from the gite. Take the track which leads to the lovely village of Quelven, or a 15 minute stroll to the village to buy your bread.
Gorgeous well appointed gite in wonderful, peaceful, relaxing setting.
Papillon had everything we needed for a week long stay, with a warm welcome form Carol who was there with a helpful bit of local advice whenever needed, but never intrusive.
Fantastic woodland walks from the doorstep (literally) and friendly, welcoming villages just a few minutes away for essentials, with supermarkets etc in Pontivy, Papillon is ideally situated for trips to Vannes and other areas of the coast as well as any number of the fantastic small towns and villages of the region.
In the evenings we enjoyed the garden and the barbecue, but most of all we enjoyed the sense of relaxation that came from being in such a tranquil environment.
