Guemene sur scorff Is only ten minutes from The Pines. It is a pretty medieval village with ancient houses, steep streets, Roman bath & ruined Chateau right in the heart of the village. There is a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. With an excellent Tourist Information Office. A favourite place that we and our guests have enjoyed to visit it Sabots Rouges a trendy little Restaurant La Cuisine that often has live music. The Abbaye de Bon Repos and The Quénécan Forest only 15 minutes from The Pines a great place to visit, with a local market every Sunday, bars with live music a great place to chill, relax and watch the world go by. The Abbaye dates back to the 12th century with later editions from the 18th century, which are gradually being restored.Great place for walks and cycling as it sit right on the Brest and Nantes cannel. Lac de Guerledan only 25 minutes from The Pines. Brittany's largest lake. Not only is this the perfect place for sunning yourself at the man made beaches or messing about on the water but the area also offer extensive trails for walking and cycling. There are also quite a few places to hire cycles, pedalos , canoes. Pontivy or originally known as Napoleonville is our nearest Town 13km from The Pines has a fantastic variety of shops , restaurants, Creperies. With lovely cobbled streets. A must see is the Chateau des Rohan. Other interesting towns to visit are Quimper, Concarneau, Auray, Port Louis, Vannes and Josselin. Markets are in abundance locally. it is a must visit to buy fresh local produce, such as seafood, cheeses and bread, or just to soak up the atmosphere.
My husband and I were delighted with our stay at 'The Pines'.
We were greeted warmly by the owners who showed us around the gite, assuring us that they were only too happy to help with any queries that might arise. None did!
We were supplied with an extremely generous 'welcome pack' which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The location was beautifully rural ensuring a peaceful and relaxing time.
The gite is extremely well supplied with information regarding places to visit in the surrounding area.
The owners proved to be delightful, friendly and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending the property to friends and family.
Many Thanks Veronica & Chris for your wonderful review for The Pines Gite. Paul & I are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us x
What a fantastic place to stay. From the moment you arrive Julie and Paul make you feel exceptionally welcome. The house is clean and beautifully presented- just as the pictures show. The Pines is located in a tranquil setting with so much to see and do within driving distance. We visited the city of Vannes, the beach of Carnac as well as canoed on the amazing Lac nearby. Paul even drove us to the starting point of the most idyllic bike ride along the local canal. I can not recommend this gite more highly if you are looking for a relaxing holiday away from the crowds. A car is essential though and Julie and Paul have loads of great recommendations for places to visit, things to do and place to eat!! I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting the local area and have already recommended it to friends of mine!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review, it was our absolute pleasure & we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at The Pines xxx
We spent a very enjoyable week at The Pines. The owners could not have been more helpful or welcoming. We visited many small and large towns, all within easy driving distance. Visiting Rennes took a little longer but was well worth the drive.
We would definitely go back and have no hesitation in recommending a stay there. The property is spacious and clean and felt like home for the week we stayed. It was peaceful and quiet and very relaxing.
Thank you Julie and Paul.
Many Thanks for your kind review , it was an absolute pleasure meeting you all. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at The Pines ??
I visited The Pines in July 2017. I was seeking a comfortable, quiet and peaceful break. That is exactly what I thoroughly enjoyed. The Pines is rural, but well served with an excellent road network which opens up Brittany for those seeking to explore and within very easy driving distance from the Ferry Ports. The local town of Pontivy has pretty much everything you need for a self catering holiday break.
The accommodation is spotlessly clean, with a very well equipped kitchen and lovely patio area with BBQ. The bedrooms are airy with high quality linen and the Velux black out blinds made sleeping that much easier. Good internet connection and British TV were a bonus. The photo's don't do the accommodation justice. This Gite is far better than most and excellent value for money.
Julie and Paul are the type of on site hosts that make your holiday that much better. Friendly, approachable and informative, but not intrusive.
For a relaxing, peaceful and hassle free break you cant really go wrong with The Pines.
Many thanks for taking the time to write such a super review. Paul & I are so glad you managed to have a chilled out stay. Take Care & we hope to see you again at The Pines
