About this property

Riverside Property in Pretty Village . This cottage/gite is in a village setting.

The property is situated at the end of the beautiful, picturesque village of St Nicolas Des Eaux. in large wooded gardens leading down to the river. This is the oldest part of the property and was originally the milking parlour and now converted to a 2/3 bedroomed gite, Swift is all on garden level and offers facilities for the wheelchair bound.

There is a private furnished patio area including barbecue.

There are 2 bedrooms - one double and one with two single beds (one a bunk bed).

There is a spacious fully equipped kitchen with dining area and seating for up to 6 people.

The very comfortable, spacious lounge, with a large working inglenook fireplace with woodburner, overlooks the gardens. It is equipped with English satellite tv/video/dvd compatible with UK video cassettes and free wi-fi access.

A feature of the lounge is its very comfortable fold-away traditional Breton double bed.and includes 2 sofas and 2 armchairs.

Access to Swift is via a gentle slope to the garden and, together with the specially adapted shower room (wet room) and toilet (raised toilet seat available) and handrails, is wheelchair/buggy friendly.

A further adjoining 3 bedded room with en suite shower and toilet can be included for larger parties.

Just behind the property is the extensive half wooded half grassed communal garden, including picnic tables, hammocks and badminton net. At the top of the garden Is the large, fully furnished, communal terrace with brick built bar-be-cue. And next to that is the overhead heated swimming pool and sun deck, situated for maximum sunlight.

Opposite the main property is a large shed containing books, dvds, videos, board games and beach and garden gamelers and equipment for the use of our guests.

The bottom of the garden leads out onto the towpath for long, peaceful and traffic free (except through the village) walks and cycle rides. The River Blavet is one of the premier fishing rivers in France, with salmon, trout and carp, just some of the numerous species, suitable for both the dedicated and amateur (rods and equipment available in shed) anglers.

Next door to the property is a large children's play and picnic area, and next to that is a canoe/kayak centre.

The village has 2 excellent bar/restaurants and two bars, one which serves pizzas and the other is also the local tabac. All have outside terraces overlooking the river. Pedaloes can be hired from the second picnic area over the weir, all these are within a min stroll from the property. Within a ten min drive are a 9 hole golf course, horse riding stables and a go-cart centre. The nearest town, Plumeliau, has supermarkets, chemists, boulangeries, doctors, dentists and vets, although bread is delivered daily (except Monday) to our car park. Further afield the beautiful beaches of southern Brittany, local markets, an adventure park (like go ape, only safer) and many churches, museums and delightful towns and villages, all within a 45 min drive.
