About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr David Norton

David, Stephanie and Heidi moved to France 3 years ago and have not regretted it for an instant. We live on the outskirts of Rohan, a friendly, pretty little town in central Brittany which has all the amenities. We loved being in central Brittany from the start and have made many friends here, both English and French. We have plenty of knowledge of the area and are close by if you need us for any reason or would like advice or information.

Year property purchased 2017
Why this location? Because it is a lovely, picturesque village with restaurants, bars, cycling and canoing. It is central to many lovely historic and interesting places in Brittany and not too far from the coast and it's beaches and fishing ports.
Unique benefits of property The cottage is one of 2 for rent, they both have two bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, upstairs wc and downstairs shower room. They have large, secure, separate gardens with a shared heated pool that is fenced off from the main gardens for privacy and safety. The cottage is comfortably equipped with every thing you will require for an enjoyable stay. It is close to all the facilities so there is just a comfortable stroll to the local restaurants and bars. We are in a central position in Brittany, close to the River Blavet which comes from the Nantes-Brest Canal. The river is navigable and there is a pontoon in the village. One can sit on the terrace of one of the bars or restaurants and watch the activities of boats making their way through the lock.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this delightful cottage which was comfortable and well equipped. Many thoughtful touches such as the welcome pack, which contained all the basics including a bottle of wine, plus toiletries and towelling bath robes.
The garden is a good size and there is a small heated pool which is shared with the holiday cottage next door. A good range of bikes meant we were able to go for a lovely ride along the banks of the Blavet. Canoes were available but we didn't take advantage of those! There was also a small play area for children with swings for small children.
The village has excellent amenities but unfortunately by the time we arrived all had closed for the winter apart from one bar that opened some lunch times.
There are plenty of places to visit in the area although again, as we were in the first week of October, many tourist attractions had shut their doors.
However, we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return.
