Pretty Stone Cottage in Floral Riverside Village. This cottage/gite is in a village setting.

The pretty stone cottages are in St Nicolas des Eaux just 200yds from the riverbank, situated in the centre of the lovely floral riverside village beside the River Blavet, one of Brittany's prettiest floral villages midway between Pontivy and Baud (you will find it on Google maps and Google Earth).
 
New for 2016 is a heated swimming pool, a free rowing boat on the river with life vests, free use of good condition bicycles, adult and children's ( bring your own helmets) these are shared between our 2 cosy Breton cottages which can be let separately or combined for 2 families on holiday together, each cottages sleeps up to 4 adults and one child. There is FREE use of reliable wi-fi (bring your laptop).
We give you a free WELCOME PACK to ease your arrival and will supply a substantial first meal, if required and on request for 18 euros per adult. Every morning the bread lady stops just a few yards from the cottages and sells bread, croissants and a few other delights as well.
Each cottage has two good sized bedrooms, one double and one twin bedroom, There is also a z bed available as well as cots. The heated swimming pool, which is new for 2016 is shared between the 2 cottages but the gardens are completely separate. The cottages are both comfortably furnished with a large living/dining room containing a 3 piece suite, coffee-table, a large flat screen tv, a dvd player and free wi-fi. There is a dining table and chairs in a separate part of the room and a highchair is available if required. There is a large modern shower room with a toilet and vanity unit. The kitchen is fully equipped for comfortable living and the back door leads into the large rear garden.
There is a small separate laundry room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board, pegs are provided.
 
A door leads from the living room to the stairs and the bedrooms and cloakroom. The master bedroom has a comfortable double bed with a duvet weight that depends on the season, a top sheet is provided for those really warm nights. The pillows are soft and bouncy and if more are needed these can be supplied. There is a chest of drawers in each bedroom and a dressing table with a stool. A large walk in wardrobe is on the spacious landing. The second bedroom has two comfortable 3ft divan beds suitable for adults. We do have cots and linen available for all ages ( birth to 3yrs).
 
The cottages have large, separate,  fully enclosed private gardens, each have a bbq, garden furniture consisting of table, chairs and a parasol for that meal al fresco, also reclining sunbeds for relaxing with a good book or sunning oneself after a cooling swim. The heated swimming pool is above ground and safely fenced away from small children, there is a small blow up paddling pool available for the little ones. It is a perfect base to explore the coastline and beaches of the Golfe de Morbihan, or one can walk or cycle locally. Lac Guerledan with water sports and walks is a short drive away. The Adventure Park near Camors is popular with older children. Canoe and pedalo hire is available in the village.
 
A very short stroll, about 200yds from the cottages is a popular creperie, a superb bistro and a reasonably priced restaurant , all with terraces overlooking the River Blavet. In Plumeliau our nearby village oysters are sold on a Sunday and there is a small market on a Tuesday.
 
Pardons and Fetes are many in all the surrounding villages.The cottages are in Saint Nicolas des Eaux, one of Brittany's prettiest floral villages on the banks of the beautiful River Blavet, they all have bars and in addition there are two local bars all on the riverbank with terraces overlooking the river. It is a wonderful area for walking and cycling – miles in each direction along the level towpath or into the countryside. The village is central for driving to beaches and historical sites.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen is fully equipped for everyday living, with a dishwasher, full sized cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and cafetiere, tea towels, washing liquid and dish washing tablets are supplied, also hand wash liquid. There is a separate laundry area with a washing machine, tablets are supplied, an ironing board and iron, pegs for the rotary washing line in the garden. There are launderette facilities by the supermarket in Plumeliau if required.
The dining table and chairs are in the living room and a high chair can be provided on request.

Living rooms

A large living/dining room with FREE reliable wi-fi (bring your own laptop) Large flat screen English satellite tv, dvd player. Dining table and chairs to seat 4 (more if required). A high chair is available. Comfortable 3 piece suite, coffee-table. A bouncy chair is available for the small baby to recline in.

Bedrooms

The master bedroom is a good sized double with double bed, dressing table, stool and mirror, 2 bedside table with lights, chest of 4 large drawers. Large walk in wardrobe on the landing.
Bedroom two is a good size with twin divan 3ft wide beds therefore suitable for adults. There is a bedside unit between the beds with a reading lamp, a dressing table, chair and mirror and a large chest of four drawers. There is space for a cot or z-bed.

Bathrooms

Adjoining the bedrooms is a cloakroom with a toilet and hand wash basin in a vanity unit a hair dryer is supplied along with a large cupboard and drawers. There is a good sized shower room on the ground floor with large shower cabinet, excellent water pressure, Toilet and vanity unit. All towels are provided. Soap, shower gel and shampoo is also provided in the event that have been forgotten. Toilet paper is supplied.

Heating

Electric heating is available, this is included. Logs for the wood burner are extra.

Entertainment

Games, DVD's and books are in the bedrooms and living room.

Garden and outside

A heated hexagonal above ground swimming pool 5.10 metres wide x 1.20 metres high will be available in the garden in a fenced off area. This will be shared between the two cottages. A small splash pool can be made available for little ones. A large grassed garden with patio table, chairs and parasol, BBQ and sun beds are supplied for your relaxation and enjoyment. FREE bicycles are available for the more active. A pushchair with a baby carrier is available for guest's use along with accessories.

Parking and garages

Off road parking is free opposite the cottage and completely safe.

Visitor suitability

Visitors are welcome as long as the total number of guests sleeping does not exceed 5 and large groups are not permitted. The cottage is not suitable for people with very restricted mobility the stairs are steep.

Bread and other patisserie products are available every morning except Monday outside the door of the cottage at 8.20am
There is a travelling Delicatessen and Butcher who stops in the road at midday on a Saturday.

Why this location? Because it is a lovely, picturesque village with restaurants, bars and a pontoon for the boat. It is central to many lovely historic and interesting places in Brittany and not too far from the coast and it's beaches and fishing ports.
Unique benefits of property The cottage is one of 2 for rent, they are mirror images of each other with large, secure, separate gardens with a shared heated pool which is fenced off from the main gardens for privacy and safety. We have four FREE bicycles, a FREE rowing boat with life vests supplied and FREE reliable wi-fi. The cottage is comfortably equipped with every thing you will require for an enjoyable stay. It is close to all the facilities so there is just a comfortable stroll to the local restaurants and bars. We are in a central position in Brittany, close to the River Blavet which comes from the Nantes-Brest Canal. The river is navigable and there is a pontoon in the village. One can sit on the terrace of one of the bars or restaurants and watch the activities of boats making their way through the lock.

Taking our FREE rowing boat ( we supply life vests ) for a trip along the river perhaps with a rod and a picnic. Cycle along the river bank ( bring your own helmet please) and in one direction an easy level and very pretty ride there is an excellent riverside Bar/ Restaurant beside the river where one can watch boats travel through the lock, A pretty chapel in a rock called St. Gildas can be explored on the way. Go Karting just 2 kms away in Plumeliau for the over 7yrs of age ( www.kartcenter56.fr ), X-trem Forest parc adventure suitable for children 8 yrs + and adults12 kms away in Camor ( www.xtrem-forest.com ) . A challenging 9 hole Golf Course within the grounds of a ruined chateau 3kms (www.rimaison.net ) Visit the coastal area of the Gulf de Morbihan an easy drive from the cottage. Lac Guerledan is a large lake set in stunning countryside with water sports, restaurants asmall villages to explore, it is 25 mins drive north of the cottage with cruise-boat trips, stand up paddle boarding, ski and wakeboarding and a sandy beach at Beau Rivage. The Abbaye de Bon Repose close to Lac Guerledan is worth a visit and nearby Le Forges des Salles is an ancient Breton iron working village situated in the beautiful rural heart of Brittany. The beaches of the south coast of Morbihan are sandy and the nearest Lamour Plage is 35 minutes drive away, Carnac and Quiberon about 45mins drive. Branfere Animal and Botanical Park 30 minutes south of Vannes. Pont Scorf Zoo is only 30 mins away from the cottage. Josselin with its grand ramparts overlooking the Nantes - Brest Canal is a must to see, also Medieval walled Vannes with its wonderful market, marina and waterside restaurants. Have a relaxing time in our floral garden with a book, the village and area is very popular with artists so bring your pens and paints.
