About this property

Beautifully Restored Studio Gîte in Idyllic Setting. This apartment is in a village setting.

Charming first floor studio gîte in southern Brittany, newly renovated to include a high standard of furnishing and equipment.  The property is ideally situated to explore the varied attractions of the area and unspoilt natural surroundings.

An attractive self contained first floor apartment, comprising lounge/kitchen, bathroom and double bedroom all on one level plus separate utility room on the ground floor.  Located in peaceful countryside on the edge of a small village, within easy reach of the coast, and situated within large enclosed grounds with ample off-road parking and private fishing lake.

Please note that the gîte is accessed by an external staircase and as such is unsuitable for people with reduced mobility.

The property is within 2 kms of the nearby Nantes-Brest canal on the outskirts of the peaceful countryside village of St Gravé which has a friendly local bar, bakery and small grocery shop within walking distance of the gîte.  The adjacent delightful town of Malansac has a large supermarket, good choice of local shops and restaurants plus 2 banks.  Roughly 15 kms away is the larger town of Questembert with 3 supermarkets, an indoor swimming pool and a greater selection of shops and restaurants.  Not to be missed is the Monday market set around the medieval market place, a beautifully restored oak-framed building.

St Gravé is within an easy drive of several sandy beaches, charming villages and attractive market towns, including the stunning medieval Rochefort-en-Terre (a great place to eat out), historic Malestroit, the idyllic La Gacilly and the pretty chateau town of Josselin.  Vannes, the Gulf of Morbihan (with its fantastic sailing and pleasure trips to the islands) and the picturesque river port of La Roche Bernard with its harbour, seafood restaurants and bars are both about 30 minutes away.  Further afield are the historic towns of Rennes, Pontivy, Ploermel, Lorient and Auray with its picturesque port of St Gustan.

The gîte is an ideal base for exploring the Morbihan on foot, by bike or in your car.  There are good walks, cycling and river or canal activities nearby.  For example, close to Questembert railway station (trains to Vannes and Redon) is access to the traffic-free "Voie Verte", which is perfect for cycling and walking.  The close by Nantes-Brest canal provides many boating activities or simply take a stroll along the canal bank and watch the sunset… it’s easy to enjoy the simple pleasures of life in Brittany.  Alternatively, just relax in the grounds or fish from the banks of our private lake.  Should you be feeling slightly more energetic, you can always splash about in our rowing boat!

A charming property which more than lived up to it's description and is located in a superb setting in a very quiet hamlet. The gite was immaculately presented and equipped to the highest standard , the owners really have thought of everything

The owners are justifiably proud of their home , on site all the time and an excellent source of information. A lovely couple who are discreet when necessary but always on hand if needed
.
There are plenty of interesting places to see within a short distance, an excellent choice of restaurants to suit all pockets/tastes is only a short drive away. A visit to La Gacilly is a must

Would thoroughly recommend a stay here to recharge the batteries

A really good week-loved it. The Gite exceeded expectations-everything had been thought of for our comfort and enjoyment. The Gite was in the grounds of the large garden withe the owners house close by.The fishing pond was great fun-the roach liked our british sliced bread.two beautiful lily ponds.
Found plenty of places to visit-on market days which added interest.Went to car boot sales etc.Actually found the village interesing for our morning walk. Sue and Alastair are a warm helpful wlecoming couple.very approachable but not intrusive.
