This detached farmhouse is in a quiet hamlet, only 4km from Cleguerec with its many amenities. (Including the bakey, a florist, bars and restaurants, a bistro, a creperie, pharmacy, banks, estate agents,doctors, dentists, vets, butchers, florists, garages, petrol pumps, and 3 hair dressers!!)
The fenced, private garden and parking is for this house only.
A tranquil location, yet close to good bars, restaurants, the shops, and of course the Guerledan lake! There are plenty of footpaths in the forests, by the lake, and of course the Nantes - Brest canal, so it is great for walks, cycling, fishing and water sports.
The house has been renovated to a high standard in 2014, keeping much of its old charm as well as including modern convenience. Comfortable and spacious, it is ideal for families, couples, and also dog friendly.
Available all year round, from short 2 day visits, to month long stays, which is ideal for house hunting! Discounts available for couples and long lets.
The garden is enclosed, with plenty of car parking. The garden surrounds the house on 3 sides, with the quiet lane being on the 4th side. It has plenty of garden furniture, and dining facilities with a bbq, perfect for time lazing in the sun. There is a trampoline and table tennis, and a fire pit to give a nice ambience in the evenings. There are some outdoor toys for little ones, too.
Its location in the centre of Brittany is ideal for touring, with the north and south a coast being around an hour away.
Downstairs there is a large farmhouse kitchen, fully equipped with a dishwasher, full sized oven, microwave, toaster, blender, food processor, coffee-machine etc. The table seats 6, and there is a log burner for the cooler times of the year. There is also a utility room with a washing machine, and a bathroom is downstairs, with a shower, hand basin and toilet.
The lounge has a tv for viewing English free view channels. Also there is a dvd player, cd player, and plenty of books and games to pass the time. Leaflets of local places of interest are provided, as well as maps and walking books. There is a log burner and electric heating in the lounge.
Upstairs are 3 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and en suite toilet/hand basin. The 2nd bedroom also has a double bed, and the third bedroom has 2 singles. There is a cot provided. Central to the rooms is a family bathroom, with a bath, shower, toilet and hand basin. All bedrooms have velux windows with blinds. Electric heating is available in all the rooms.
A new fully fitted kitchen with plenty of electrical appliances. There is an electric oven with a gas hob,a microwave, coffee-machine, kettle, toaster, blender, food processor, dish washer, washing machine, log stove, table and chairs for 6 people, plus electric heating.
The large living room with tv has English free view channels. There are books, games, puzzles, electric heating and a log burner. With a 2 and 3 seater sofa, plus a chair with footrest, it is comfortable for 6 people. The internet box is in the lounge, as well as a phone, so you can make free calls to the UK or most of Europe (to land lines only!)
The main bedroom has an en suite toilet/hand basin and double bed, cupboards with hanging space, a chest of drawers, and a side cabinet.
The 2nd bedroom has a double bed and is small. There is a table with lamp, a hanging rail with space for knitwear etc.
The 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds, a small wardrobe,a chest of drawers, and a bedside cupboard.
All have electric heating and velux windows. The windows have velux blinds
Downstairs is a shower room with toilet and hand basin
Upstairs there is a family bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and hand basin. There is plenty of hot water, available all the time.
Electric heating in all the rooms, and 2 log burners downstairs.
English Tv, dvd, cd, books, games, puzzles. Free wifi.
Outside is a trampoline, table tennis, and outdoor toys for small children.
Books on walks and maps of the area are provided.
It has an enclosed, fenced garden. In front of the house is space for 3-4 cars. There is also a dining table for meals out in the sun. Gravel at the front of the house, and lawns on 2 other sides. The able tennis table, trampoline, garden loungers, outdoor tables and chairs, firepit, bbq, and a 3 seater swing seat are outdoors.
Parking within the grounds suitable for up to 4 cars.
Suitable for families, couples, people with dogs. There is a step up to the lounge and steps to the upstairs, so unsuitable for wheelchairs.
There is a discount for couples.
All bedding, bed linen, towels (not beach towels), electricity and gas bottle are included in the rental price.
The fires are prepared out of the main season.
There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs.
There are plenty of leaflets giving details of places of interest. In addition, events during your stay are provided. We have plenty of events throughout the year, as we locals like entertainment all year round! Though out of the summer season, many of these activites are indoors.

I moved here in 2002, not really knowing anything about Brittany. But I immediately fell in love with the area, the culture and the people. I love the countryside, outdoor life, the pretty villages, towns and of course, I love the lake! The lake is so tranquil, with its lovely paths for walking, the restaurants and good for swimming. So I don't need to travel far for my love of water to be satisfied! And plenty of places for walking with my dog.

|Why this location?||Approaching the house for the first time,I fell in love with the location. I could see the potential, and had always wanted to have a project like this. With excellent local artisans I have an old house with all modern facilities. A lovely blend of old and new. The garden is a sun trap, the area is tranquil, and only 4km to Cleguerec with all necessary shops! I live nearby, and I discovered the people are friendly, and the surroundings stunning. The area is principally farming.. tourists are welcomed, and events are on all year round. There are plenty of good restaurants around, and there are plenty of bars nearby. The lake is the huge bonus.. beautiful all year round, with its manmade beaches for swimming and water sports, or just for watching the world go by. The canal is great, too.. for fishing, walking and cycling. And Pontivy is a pretty town with shops and restaurants. Relaxing and destressing, or outdoor activities, or touring. Country living, but not isolated!|
|Unique benefits of property||The house has an enclosed garden, with plenty of room for parking. A safe environment for children and pets alike. Plenty of space for outdoor meals, a great place to relax. The house has been completely renovated, keeping much of its old character, yet with all the comfort of a modern home. Great at all times of the year.. masses of insulation keep the heat in (and out!) and the log burners are very efficient. Toilet facilities upstairs and down, the 3 bedrooms share a family bathroom upstairs. An ideal location for relaxing, or for touring.. both the north and south coasts are about an hour away.|
The biggest lake in Brittany, it has manmade beaches, watersports, pedaloes, and canoes. There are restaurants and cafes with views over the lake. The nearest access is the south side at the Anse Du Sordan, a quiet spot where you can relax by the lake, and dine at the Merlin restaurant. There are footpaths by the lake, with sign posted walks. The north side at Caurel there are a number of restaurants and bars, and a larger beach. There are boat trips from here in summer.
Ideal for walks, cycling, and fishing
A historic market town, with the canal, chateau, and many Napoleonic buildings. Set next to the canal, the main street has a nice selection of individual boutique shops, with the chateau at one end of the town. It has many cafes and restaurants, some of which have a terrace so you can watch the world go by. Further out of the town are larger hypermarkets and shops. There is a swimming pool, Spadium, with spa, sauna and steam room, and in July August there is an outdoor pool by the canal. The 10 pin bowling also has a laser game, great for groups. There is a soft play for small children.
The 12th century Cistercian abbey is next to the Nantes Brest canal, and is used for art expos. Still being restored, it is possible to tour the abbey, and audio head sets are available for the tour. In august every year there is a spectacle, which has around 350 actors. The performance is at nightfall, and is well worth a visit! There is a sunday market held from march (coincides with the clocks changing) and ends at All Saints Day in November. Held in the mornings only, the cafes are popular with good food and music. The bar is of course open throughout the year, with a welcoming fire in the winter months.
Centrally located, the house is around an hour to both coasts. The north with its emerald sea, rocky shores, and many pretty ports. The south coast has the golfe de Morbihan, with its small islands, sandy beaches and pretty villages. Ideally located, the house is ideal for touring.
