Other touristic delights await you in the gorgeous walled medieval port of Vannes not forgetting the megaliths of Carnac and Gavrinis South-West of Vannes and the "Parc naturel de la Briere" to the South. Mike is a keen craft brewer and guests are welcome to join in on brew days for a hands on introduction to small-scale brewing. Tastings are often available, too. Check availability, though as we don't brew in the blazing sun or in the pouring rain.
For golf lovers, there is even a golf course in the nearby village of Caden and it is only 5km to the nearest major supermarket.
The gite is a delightful rustic retreat attached to the main house, which means we, the owners, are at hand to help out with any request for information or to help with difficulties including language problems since we are both bilingual English-French.
You can relax in the cosy lounge after a fun day at the beach, walking, cycling or visiting some of the many beautiful local villages. The lounge has its own wood burning stove for winter days. The gite also has a very well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a roomy shower space and a wash basin.
There is a mezzanine bedroom with its own washbasin, where you can sleep blissfully with your window open on hot nights as it has an insect screen installed. Bird song will wake you up in the morning, though.
The gite benefits from its own garden, fenced for privacy, where you can sit and admire the sunset over the gorgeous countryside. Pets are welcome.
In July and August, arrival day is Saturday and for full week or multiples of a week. Short breaks may arrive any day provided they leave by Saturday morning. That is, they do not straddle a weekend. But we try to be flexible when we can. Please contact the owner to make an enquiry.
Daniele and Mike look forward to welcoming you at La Taniere.

We came to Brittany in 2016 after having spent most of our lives in Dorset. My name is Daniele. I am French and have returned to my place of birth after 42 years in England. where, naturally. I taught French. My husband, Mike, is English and was also a teacher, but who now is following the more noble calling of brewing British beers in France.<br/>We both speak French and English and are able to offer French lessons at all levels. We are always available next door for help and advice.
