Carnac is known throughout the world for its unique rows of ancient standing stones. The town is split into two areas: Carnac-Ville, where you’ll find the Museum of Prehistory, and Carnac-Plage, a family seaside resort with a state-of-the-art thalassotherapy centre. Oyster farming is big business.
With fantastic views over the isle of Groix, Kerguelen beach, 1.6 km long, offers excellent water quality for swimming. It's also home to one of Europe’s biggest watersports centres where you can try a number of activities (sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding...) and watch competitions. With two lifeguard posts, this beach is very well supervised.
The walled town of Vannes is without doubt one of Brittany’s most attractive sights and a must-visit on any trip to Morbihan. Wander around the well-preserved medieval streets before enjoying a harbour-side lunch then taking a boat trip around the gulf. Kids will love the aquarium and butterflies.
The vibrant university city of Rennes, Brittany’s administrative capital, is worth a day or two of anyone’s time. Take a wander around the medieval streets of the picture-perfect old town and admire the impressive parliament building before relaxing in the Thabor gardens.
A towering 16th-century spire rockets up above the remaining medieval ramparts of Hennebont, an historic port at a strategic river-crossing on the Blavet, at the back of Lorient’s huge natural harbour. In the 19th century, industry arrived in town, plus an important stud farm championing the Breton horse.
Jutting out into the sea for 9 miles (14km) and just 72ft (22m) wide at its narrowest point, the Quiberon Peninsula is a tourist destination par excellence. With its rugged coastline, sweeping sandy beaches, fishing villages and rich cultural history, this beautiful area of Morbihan won’t disappoint.
Half way between Lorient and Quiberon, the Étel river flows inland like an outstretched hand for 9 square miles. Its dangerous mouth has swallowed many a sailor and its town of the same name was once one France’s most important tuna fishing ports. These days it has plenty to interest visitors.
Very nice crêperie in Baud. Friendly welcome by the owners, a very attentive, friendly and smiling staff. For gourmands do not hesitate to taste sweet and delicious crepes. Would highly recommend.
This is a fantastic place to visit, when we go to France we love searching for the smaller amusement parks and this is by far the best one we have found so far.
We were a family group of 20+ so booked the whole complex of 4 gites. The pool was kept spotless and the whole place was brilliant for a large family group of mixed generations from 3 to 70+years. The hosts made our stay even better. Nothing was too much. The setting was in the country but a nice walk with the dogs in the morning to the local bakery in the nearby village for fresh croissants. Wonderful holiday. Thank you.
Hi Jenny and John
It was really great to see that all the family enjoyed their time here together , but also able to have their own space with the different accommodation.
We really enjoyed meeting you all, and should you ever decide to venture this way again either a a group or booking individual gite to explore the area a little more then you would always be welcome .
Vicky and Sam x
The property we stayed in La Faisane was ideal for us, 2 couples and a toddler. From the moment we arrived-on an extremely hot and humid day- Vicky and Sam were there to great us and welcome us and Vicky even took one of our vroup to tbe local pizza place so we could get something quick and easy to eat!
During our 2 week stay, Vicky and Sam were so helpful and accommodating with their local knowledge of places to vists, tips on where we could go for walks and runs and making sure we had absolutely everything we needed.
The property itself was ideal for us, plenty of space and all the facilities you would expect. It was very helpful having a washing machine on site too. The pool was great and kept immaculately and we definitely made use of it during the hot weather we had.
During our stay my 18 month old nieve became poorly, Vicky was able to advise us where the nearest doctor was and then help us translate the French instructions on the medicine.
Overall, our stay was fantastic and we really felt like Sam and Vicky went above and beyond to make it as comfortable as possible. We would not hesitate to book to stay here again and also bring otber family and friends to book out the other gites too.

It was really great to meet you all and to see how much you enjoyed your time together . Fantastic that you mum and dad and grandparents were able to come and visit and have a swim and a BBQ with you.
We were very happy to help and lovely to see that Mia began to feel a little better after seeing our doctor who speaks English as well.
Your two weeks here at Kerabellec absolutely flew by and I think Bella enjoyed being able to be with you all too, especially making friends with Paddy our patterdale
We would love to see you again , should you decide to book with us .
Best wishes Melissa and Jo for the birth of you baby. Do let us know if a boy or girl .
Have a great summer
Vicky and Sam xx
We stayed here for 10 days over the summer.
A lovely break, in a lovely setting with lovely owners.
We had a wonderful time at La Faisane, Sam and Vicky were the perfect hosts with
plenty of information about local attractions including opening times
for the supermarkets, best beaches, boutiques, cycle routes and local patisseries. Vicky let us know about the local craft fair st Camore where we enjoyed a BBQ and watched local craftsman perform traditional skills including blacksmith, leatherwork, willow weaving, music and artisan bakery.
The gite was impeccable with extra finishing touches such as books, games and plenty of leaflets. The decor was home from home so you felt comfortable straightaway. It was also spotless with all the necessary equipment in the kitchen to ensure you didn't need to bring anything with you.
We visited Carnac for the beaches and moules frites (huge portions for 10 euros) lovely boutiques in Pontivy, market day Wednesday in Auray & then walk to down the cobbled street to St Goustan to see the boats and art galleries (check out the small cafes & restaurants tucked away up the hill to the left of Franklins creperie restaurant which is also good) Baud and the local patisserie in Chapelle Neuve. The swimming pool kept our two boys (10 & 12) entertained for many hours, including the woods and the large open area for ball sports, even a spot of fishing in the river.
Highly recommended and enhanced by the friendly owners. It was such a shame to leave them both
and the gite, thank you for making our holiday so special.
Hi Donna, Karl Reuben and Nathanial,
It was really lovely to meet you all , and it felt comfortable with everybody from the moment you arrived. We were so pleased to see how much the boys enjoyed riding their bikes .
Your boys are a credit to you, great parenting and support from you both.I know that they will achieve so much in their sports and music.
Get them to listen to 2cello. Two young men who have trained and become brilliant with the cello. Maybe an inspiration ?
We do hope that you return to Kerabellec as you would always be very welcome.
Lots of love
Vicky and Sam
