The Owner Recommends

Carnac Town and Beach

Carnac is known throughout the world for its unique rows of ancient standing stones. The town is split into two areas: Carnac-Ville, where you’ll find the Museum of Prehistory, and Carnac-Plage, a family seaside resort with a state-of-the-art thalassotherapy centre. Oyster farming is big business.

Plage de Kerguelen

With fantastic views over the isle of Groix, Kerguelen beach, 1.6 km long, offers excellent water quality for swimming. It's also home to one of Europe’s biggest watersports centres where you can try a number of activities (sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding...) and watch competitions. With two lifeguard posts, this beach is very well supervised.

Vannes

The walled town of Vannes is without doubt one of Brittany’s most attractive sights and a must-visit on any trip to Morbihan. Wander around the well-preserved medieval streets before enjoying a harbour-side lunch then taking a boat trip around the gulf. Kids will love the aquarium and butterflies.

Rennes

The vibrant university city of Rennes, Brittany’s administrative capital, is worth a day or two of anyone’s time. Take a wander around the medieval streets of the picture-perfect old town and admire the impressive parliament building before relaxing in the Thabor gardens.

Hennebont

A towering 16th-century spire rockets up above the remaining medieval ramparts of Hennebont, an historic port at a strategic river-crossing on the Blavet, at the back of Lorient’s huge natural harbour. In the 19th century, industry arrived in town, plus an important stud farm championing the Breton horse.

Quiberon

Jutting out into the sea for 9 miles (14km) and just 72ft (22m) wide at its narrowest point, the Quiberon Peninsula is a tourist destination par excellence. With its rugged coastline, sweeping sandy beaches, fishing villages and rich cultural history, this beautiful area of Morbihan won’t disappoint.

Saint-Cado et la ria d'Etel

Half way between Lorient and Quiberon, the Étel river flows inland like an outstretched hand for 9 square miles. Its dangerous mouth has swallowed many a sailor and its town of the same name was once one France’s most important tuna fishing ports. These days it has plenty to interest visitors.

Au Bon Vieux Temps Sarl

Very nice crêperie in Baud. Friendly welcome by the owners, a very attentive, friendly and smiling staff. For gourmands do not hesitate to taste sweet and delicious crepes. Would highly recommend.

Kingoland

This is a fantastic place to visit, when we go to France we love searching for the smaller amusement parks and this is by far the best one we have found so far.

We had a lovely time staying at the largest of Vicky and Sam's gites. The bedrooms are a good size and there is loads of space downstairs as well as sofas and dining chairs for everyone. Vicky was a fantastic host and provided travel cots and high chairs for our twins and also answered some quite specific questions that I had before we arrived. The pool was great - perfect temperature - and so was the rest of the outdoor space, our 3 year old loved the play equipment and the garden as well as the other toys available to borrow during our stay. We were unlucky with the weather on our 10 day stay which meant it was a little difficult to get our clothes dry after washing but we did manage it and there were laundromat facilities available in Baud if we'd needed a dryer. It was great to have towels for a reasonable fee and Vicky provided more when the weather meant that they weren't drying inside. All in all we had a wonderful stay and hope we can return again and get luckier with the weather next time! Thanks so much.

Owner response

Delightful helpful hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble!
A perfect gite complex (we rented Alouette and Hirondelle) for our party of sixteen from ages 15 months to seventy. Everything to hand and a great pool. Can not recommend highly enough!

Owner response

We rented the entire 4 cottages of this property for several groups of friends who were coming to our wedding in Brittany.

The hosts could not have helped more, they went out of their way to facilitate our trip.

The properties are lovely with great facilities and very well maintained, and in a beautiful and convenient location.

I cannot recommend this property and it's hosts enough.

Owner response

Hi Ella

It was a pleasure to have your family and friends to stay, having come from various parts of the world to share your special day.
The log fires kept them all very cosy and I know that they thoroughly enjoyed the location being rural and sharing the wildlife as well as only being 30 minutes from the larger towns and beaches . I am pleased that everybody enjoyed their stay here , and they would be very welcome anytime should they decide to venture over to Brittany again. The weather was so kind to you with some glorious afternoons.

Best wishes

Vicky and Sam
