This large granite house is built over 3 floors. It has wooden floors throughout and has been extensively, but sympathetically renovated to a high standard. All rooms are individually designed to provide modern facilities, whilst retaining the French charm and character.
It is centrally located in a small village, close to church, bar and local shop. The local village hall is close by and provides boules court, tennis and children's play area.
Woodlands are within a few minutes walk and there are plenty of cycle routes in the area.
Meals are served in the dining area which is traditionally furnished and spacious.
The lounge has plenty of comfortable seating and uk satellite tv. We have a selection of games and puzzles available for traditional amusement, as well as wifi for those who require technology. There are views across the rear garden and swimming pool.
Bedroom 1 - a family room with one standard double bed and one single bed. The room is freshly decorated with a nautical theme, in shades of blue and white. There are 2 windows providing fine views across the valley. The main bathroom, with separate bath and shower is just across the corridor.
Bedroom 2 - a spacious room with king-size bed, walk-in dressing room and en suite shower room and toilet. Decorated in shades of silver and grey, this room provides all the comforts of home.
Bedroom 3 - with a super kingsize bed, walk-in wardrobe and en suite toilet and handbasin. A shower is situated in the main bathroom. The window seat affords views over the rear garden and swimming pool, and is the perfect spot to read or watch the myriad of birds which visit the garden.
In addition to the en suite facilities, our main bathroom includes both shower and corner bath.
Bedrooms have individual electric radiators, whilst the public rooms are heated, when necessary, by the wood burners.
Wi-fi available. A selection of traditional games, playing cards etc. Bicycles and garden games, racquets, bowling and cricket may be loaned.
Plenty of seating for sunbathing and dining al fresco. Above ground swimming pool now open (but unheated). Bbq available for small charge.
Free street parking at front of property in parking bays.
Ideal for couples requiring a peaceful break, or those house hunting in Brittany. Families can be accommodated and a travel cot and highchair are available. We aim to meet dietary requirements wherever possible, but may require notice for lactose or gluten intolerant clients, we cannot, however guarantee a nut-free environment. Evening meals can be ordered in the morning.
My partner and I have spent months restoring this old granite house to its former glory. My background has been split between theatre and engineering but I am now semi-retired here in Brittany. I enjoy music and design, exploring our local area and up-cycling furniture.

|Why this location?||Seglien is a delightful old Breton village. It is well positioned with good road links for sightseeing. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside full of woods, lakes, quaint towns and historic relics. The Nantes-Brest canal is only a short distance, as is Lac de Guerledan; perfect for walkers, cyclists and water sports. We can reach the south coast in about an hour. There are some fine restaurants close by, plenty of local markets and a good selection of music events, both traditional and modern.|
|Unique benefits of property||This is a large granite house with spacious rooms renovated to a high standard. The gardens are secluded and give privacy for sunbathing or for swimming. Evening meals are available on request and we host an occasional private supper club. Later in the year, my partner will be opening a cookery school to introduce new skills using local produce. We have two friendly dogs who are part of our family, and have one dog-friendly room by prior arrangement.|
Fabulous location next to a lake. Family run. Great food including Fish & chips, Cornish pasties (home made) and Sunday Lunch. Regular music events.
A superb high class restaurant, perfect for that special occasion.
