Kerbois is situated in the commune of La Croix Hellean near to the stunning medieval town of Josselin.
A perfect relaxing retreat but near enough to many attractions to be able to explore this beautiful region of France.
Entering the property you are immediately in the large open plan kitchen/living and dining area.
The kitchen is well equipped with a large oven, gas hob and electric oven, fridge. There is also a cafetiere, microwave, kettle and toaster. The crockery is stored in the useful kitchen “island” and there is also plenty of pots, pans and glasses.
The large dining table comfortably seats 6 people.
The lounge area has comfortable seating and a feature woodburner, ideal for cooler months.
There is an electric piano and also guitar and drum if you feel like a musical evening!
The cottage has 3 bedrooms . One with a king size bed, one single room and a room with 3 single beds.
Babies are accepted and there is a travelcot available.
There is also a room upstairs which can be used as a childrens’ playroom/snug.
The bathroom has a large shower cubicle, wash basin and wc.
There is a separate toilet in the outbuilding next to the kitchen, which also houses the washing machine.
Linen and towels are not included but may be available to hire. Please enquire.
The property is not suitable for wheelchair users or guests with impaired mobility
An "end of stay clean" is offered at a cost of 50€, payable locally on departure. This may be useful if you have to leave early for your return travel. Otherwise we ask that the cottage is left in a clean and tidy state. Failure to do this may result in withholding some or all of your security deposit.
Dogs are generally welcome. We ask that you check with the owner at the time of booking. A cleaning fee of £10 per week will apply.

A NO SMOKING policy is operated inside the house.
There is parking, off road with spaces for 2 cars
The garden is large with plenty of secluded areas to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. It is not secured and we would therefore remind guests with young children and/or dogs to ensure they are supervised at all times.
A bbq is available for guest use.
Outdoor furniture, including deck chairs/table/and picnic bench are provided with “al fresco” dining in mind.

At nearby Josselin there is a perfectly preserved medieval chateau which is still lived in by the Rohan family.
The chateau and Dolls' Museum are open to visitors from April to October and there are tours in English daily during the summer.
Each Saturday there is a market with lots of fresh produce for sale.
On Bastille Day, 14th July, a Medieval Festival is held and the townspeople dress in traditional medieval costume.
Le Bois d'Amour (Lovers' Wood) in Josselin is literally a "park in a town". It has been created to promote nature and the environment. There is an open air theatre where music events are held during the summer months. access it. It has been very well landscaped and contains wooded sections and a stream flowing throughout. Displays are provided which explain the wildlife of the area in pictures and sounds. There are plenty of benches provided throughout the park as well as picnic tables and even a boules court. Also a small childrens' play area. An amphitheatre stages open air films and concerts during the summer, and look out for the water powered clock.
Malestroit is a pretty market town with regular concerts in summer held in the pretty cobbled square.
The canal is flanked by paths for walking and cycling, with boating for miles in both directions.
On the outskirts of Malestroit is the Musée de la Résistance de Bretagne'
This fascinating museum chronicles the vital role played by the people of Brittany at the time of the German Occupation during the second World War.
Nearby is the charming town of La Gacilly. During the summer months an outdoor photographic exhibition is held. Boat trips on the canal are available. The Yves Rocher factory, shop and Spa are situated here. Also a vegetarian restaurant - very unusual in France!
Rochefort-en-Terre, about 45 minutes away, was voted “prettiest village in France” in 2015. With its cobbled streets, plentiful restaurants and shops, it is a must on your holiday agenda!
A 30 minute drive from the accommodation takes you to the Domaine de Kerguéhennec. Here you will find an unusual sculpture park and chateau in magnificent grounds. There is a large lake and lots of woodland. Dogs are welcome! There is a small café in the park but opening times can be limited! In the chateau there are often art exhibitions.
The walled city of Vannes is about a 50 minute drive from the cottage. The harbourside restaurants are always busy in the summer months. The local seafood, oysters and mussels being particularly popular.
The zoo at Pont Scorff is ideal for younger members of the family (about 1 hour away)
The Prehistoric Park at Malansac, about 45 minutes away, is another great day out for the youngsters. There are 30 scenes of reconstruction of the dinosaur age. The park is based on models and information from the Natural History Museum in Paris.
Nearby (1 hour drive) is the stunning medieval city of Rennes, capital of Brittany. There are numerous outdoor cafés and restaurants in the picturesque square plus shops so perfect if you want some retail therapy!
One for the youngsters! A museum dedicated to insects in nearby Lizio.
The Forest of Broceliande and the town of Paimpont are about 40k from the property. This area offers lovely walking and a fascinating insight into the legends of King Arthur. The Bretons claim this area as the origin of the famous Knights of the Round Table!
