In a peaceful hamlet of just 6, the house stands in large lawned gardens (unfenced) with views over the open countryside. It is ideal for children. Ty Men has several outside terraces, perfect for al fresco dining. There is ample parking.
The property is fully equipped for all your needs, with a tv providing access to over 100 channels to include UK tv and radio channels, a dvd player and broadband internet.
Original features of the house have been retained such as the large open fireplace and the oak beams, whilst incorporating more modern conveniences such as underfloor heating. The surrounding countryside can be easily explored on foot or bicycle. The nearby town of Guegon is just 5 minutes by car and has several amenities such as a small supermarket, a boulangerie and chemist, as well as a few bars and restaurants, whilst the larger medieval town of Josselin can be accessed in under 15 minutes.
Ty Men is perfectly located to explore inland Brittany and all it has to offer, yet only a 45 minute drive from the coast and an endless choice of unspoilt beaches.

At nearby Josselin there is a perfectly preserved medieval chateau which is still lived in by the Rohan family.
The chateau and Dolls' Museum are open to visitors from April to October and there are tours in English daily during the summer.
Each Saturday there is a market with lots of fresh produce for sale.
On Bastille Day, 14th July, a Medieval Festival is held and the townspeople dress in traditional medieval costume.
Le Bois d'Amour (Lovers' Wood) in Josselin is literally a "park in a town". It has been created to promote nature and the environment. There is an open air theatre where music events are held during the summer months. access it. It has been very well landscaped and contains wooded sections and a stream flowing throughout. Displays are provided which explain the wildlife of the area in pictures and sounds. There are plenty of benches provided throughout the park as well as picnic tables and even a boules court. Also a small childrens' play area. An amphitheatre stages open air films and concerts during the summer, and look out for the water powered clock.
Malestroit is a pretty market town with regular concerts in summer held in the pretty cobbled square.
The canal is flanked by paths for walking and cycling, with boating for miles in both directions.

At St Marcel on the outskirts of Malestroit, is the Musée de la Résistance de Bretagne'
This fascinating museum chronicles the vital role played by the people of Brittany at the time of the German Occupation during the second World War.
Nearby is the charming town of La Gacilly. During the summer months an outdoor photographic exhibition is held. Boat trips on the canal are available. The Yves Rocher factory, shop and Spa are situated here. Also a vegetarian restaurant - very unusual in France!
Rochefort-en-Terre, about 45 minutes away, was voted “prettiest village in France” in 2015. With its cobbled streets, plentiful restaurants and shops, it is a must on your holiday agenda!
A 30 minute drive from the accommodation takes you to the Domaine de Kerguéhennec. Here you will find an unusual sculpture park and chateau in magnificent grounds. There is a large lake and lots of woodland. Dogs are welcome! There is a small café in the park but opening times can be limited! In the chateau there are often art exhibitions.
The walled city of Vannes is about a 50 minute drive from the farmhouse. The harbourside restaurants are always busy in the summer months. The local seafood, oysters and mussels being particularly popular.
The zoo at Pont Scorff is ideal for younger members of the family (about 1 hour away)
The Prehistoric Park at Malansac, about 45 minutes away, is another great day out for the youngsters. There are 30 scenes of reconstruction of the dinosaur age. The park is based on models and information from the Natural History Museum in Paris.
Nearby (1 hour drive) is the stunning medieval city of Rennes, capital of Brittany. There are numerous outdoor cafés and restaurants in the picturesque square plus shops so perfect if you want some retail therapy!
One for the youngsters! A museum dedicated to insects in nearby Lizio.
The Forest of Broceliande and the town of Paimpont are about 40k from the property. This area offers lovely walking and a fascinating insight into the legends of King Arthur. The Bretons claim this area as the origin of the famous Knights of the Round Table!
Nearby is the beautiful lake, Lac aux Ducs. Here there are watersports, including kayaking and pedalos for hire. Several restaurants and cafes can be found just near the sandy beach. A great day out for all the family.
Also here in the summer months is the stunning "Promenade des Hortensias". Numerous species of hydrangeas are cultivated and tended here. A fabulous display of colour during the summer months!
