Cosquer Cottage is a traditional Breton stone and thatched dwelling in Saint Nicolas des Eaux. This village is in southern Brittany, nestled in the Blavet Valley, an area renowned for its outstanding natural beauty.

The property with its old beams and thick walls has been styled to keep as many of the original features as possible whilst giving guests what they need for their stay. There are 2 bedrooms (sleeps up to 6) and a toilet on the first floor, the ground floor has the main bathroom, an open plan kitchen/dining area and a cosy lounge. It has a TV, DVD player and access to wifi. It also benefits from a fully enclosed sunny garden.

The canal is just a short walk from the property, along its banks can be found the local bars, restaurants and creperie. The village also boasts a small convenience store and tourist office. The nearest supermarket is Plumeliau, about 5 minutes drive, where you can also find more bars, restaurants, a Boulangerie, pharmacy and post office.

In Saint Nicolas you can hire kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, pedalos and bicycles at very reasonable rates. Fishing is also popular along the banks of the canal. There is a children's play area and picnic benches all within a short walk of the cottage.

There are many other attractions within easy reach of the cottage.

Carnac, Josselin, Vannes, Auray, Le Trinite Sur Mer, Lorient are all worth a visit. There is a golf course quite near by. Camors forest adventure , Balade du Pere Nicolas and Kingoland provide fun and for children and adults alike. There are public swimming pools in Baud and Pontivy both approximately 15 minutes away. Lac du Guerledan, Brittany’s largest lake has more water sports and lakeside beaches, is only a short drive away.

There are also a number of water sports such as; kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, pedalos and electric boats which you can hire by the canal at very reasonable rates. Cycles both traditional and electric for adults and children are also available for hire next to the water front.Fishing is also popular along the banks. There is a children's play area and picnic benches all within a short walk of the cottage.

There are Many Other Attractions within Easy Reach of the Cottage.

There are so many lovely places to visit and things to do in Morbihan it would be difficult to detail them all, but here are a few that I would like to recommend.
Carnac with it’s impressive standing stones , Josselin, Vannes and Auray which have beautiful Medieval architecture to admire. There are also boat trips into the Golf of Morbihan from Vannes, a Butterfly house and aquarium. If you like seafood or just looking at marinas and the fabulous boats and other sea faring crafts, Le Trinite Sur Mer is about 40 minutes drive. Lorient also about 40 minutes away, has a Uboat museum which is well worth a visit.There is a golf course quite near by. Camors forest adventure details can be found online at : www.camors-adventure-forest.com , Balade du Pere Nicolas and Kingoland provide fun and for children and adults alike. Another family attraction is the restored village of Poul-Fetan which shows examples of Breton life back in the 19th century.
There are public swimming pools in Baud and Pontivy both approximately 15 minutes away. Lac du Guerledan, Brittany’s largest lake has more watersports and lakeside beaches, is only a short drive away.
Local churches have art installations during the holiday season, these allow free access into chapels and churches throughout the area to admire the works of art. The Chateau de Rohan in Pontivy is only 15 minutes away.
A car or motorcycle are needed to enjoy the scenic drives but there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities for walkers and cyclists.
