The Owner Recommends

Avalec’s little gems!

Plumeliau is a very progressive village offering bars, restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, bakers, fishmongers and a great village square. Fetes during summer months.
Baud is a very pretty place offering lots of shops and parks.
Pontivy is a large tourist town with the river Blavet running through it, it also has an imposing Chataeu.
The nearest beach is Port Louis but Carnac and the whole southern coastline are within easy reach.
The large lake Guerladan is 30 minutes away but is a fabulous place to visit for the day.
The river at St Nicholas des Eaux is very close and have boats, canoes and bike hire.
The medical towns of Vannes and Josselin are well worth a visit too. Both have amazing buildings to see. Market days there are a must!
Like so many guest you can of course just stay at Avalec and watch the children enjoy the zip wire/tree house or simply just splash in the solar heated pool.

The rating of 8 is very high for me. We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
The property was excellent and particularly good for our party of 6 people/ 3 generations.
The advert described the property well but the English detailed particulars (from the previous English owners) were a bit out of date.
The property was spacious, clean, well maintained and beautifully situated.
The owner who lives in the adjacent property was delightful, extremely friendly and helpful. He spoke limited English and did not understand himself how some electronic devices worked (e.g. internet and TV). This did not matter to us as we speak reasonably good French and were able to use the internet outside and were pleased to have a break from the TV (we presume the previous owners paid a satellite subscription which had lapsed).
We have already recommended the property to friends and relatives.
The zip wire and pool in the garden were particularly enjoyed by our grandchildren aged 8 and 6.
There were plenty of local activities and eating places as described in the advert.
