Situated in beautiful Southern Brittany, in a quiet rural setting in the commune of Guilliers here you will find La Maison Blanche a lovely rustic old farmhouse dating back to 1727. This is great for family holidays sleeping up to 12 people, with a great attraction of an above ground swimming pool!
Dining area with seating for up to 12 people, plus a highchair. From the dining area there is access to the kitchen well equipped with gas hob (bottled gas), electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine, cafeteria, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery and glasses for 12. This also houses the fusebox.
From the kitchen is access to an enclosed covered area with a large ping pong table, and a small pools table. Ideal for the kids!
Entering the property you are immediately into a beautiful large lounge, with fireplace and woodburner, 2 large 3 seater settees, electric wall heater, boardgames and books for those cosy evenings in front of the fire.
From the lounge area, stairs leading to a large landing with a separate Toilet & Washbasin, BEDROOM 1 with a step up to a beautiful 4'6 Breton double bed, wall heater. BEDROOM 2 twin beds with built-in cupboard, wall heater, BEDROOM 3 (Master) with another beautiful Breton 4'6 double bed, wall heater, off this bedroom is another small room with a single bed, leading to a shower and basin. Separate bathroom, corner bath with shower head, toilet and basin. Large hallway with spacious cupboard for linen etc.

Stairs leading to 2nd Floor, spacious hallway with settee, leading to BEDROOM 4 twin beds and cupboard, BEDROOM 5 twin beds.
There are 3 bathrooms/shower rooms.
Lovely old fireplace with woodburner. Electric wall heaters in each room apart from the 2nd (top) floor.
Board games and books available. Satellite tv.
Nice size garden, quiet apart from the delightful birdsong, which leads to the top of the garden where a lovely above ground pool (unheated), fenced off for security, a nice sunny position. There is a bbq for those lovely evenings outside with a bottle or 2 of your favourite tipple!.
Outside off road parking for 2/3 cars.
The gite is not suitable for wheelchair users or guests with impaired mobility.
Owners Richard & Jacky Wood and family, all live in Kent and a stones throw from the Channel Tunnel. Our family has mostly lived in the countryside hence our desire to own a holiday home in a similar environment. We welcome you to share our love of this beautiful farmhouse. |Why this location?||La Maison Blanche is a large traditional Breton farmhouse built in 1727 with granite walls 2-3 feet thick and exposed oak beams. It is conveniently situated in the heart of rural Brittany in the Morhiban district and can be easily reached from a variety of entry points, including St Malo which is one hour away. When you have spent enough time enjoying the large informal garden with secure swimming pool and explored the locality on our fleet of bikes, you will find that the beautiful sandy beaches on the north & south coasts are only around 1 hours drive away. For the activity minded in your party, Lac du Duc in Ploermel is a 200 acre lake, only 20 mins drive away - has a man made beach, featuring pedaloes, kayaks, sailing boats, water skiing, safe swimming and safe off-road cycling. There are plenty of amenities too all on site. We can’t wait to return to our home in Riolo and are sure you will share our enjoyment during your holiday in Brittany.

This medieval town has a beautiful chateau built around the 11th century, which has guided tours in the summer months. There is a lively market in the cobbled streets every Saturday morning.
The Nantes-Brest canal is very beautiful and picturesque, lots of walking or cycling to be had, course fishing, hiring of canal boats, not forgetting the nature side of things, so don't forget your camera and take piccies of ducks, herons, water voles, dragon flies etc.
The Jardin aux papillons (butterfly centre) is fascinating to see for all ages, learn about the life cycle of the butterfly whilst magnificent butterflies fly freely around you in a tropical jungle, some are huge!
The Aquarium has an excellent collection of marine life including a live Alligator that was found in the Paris sewers! All sorts of small and amazingly coloured fish, including a Nemo section which is great for the kids!
As they are next to each other, you can buy a family ticket for both which is better value.
As well as being a pretty town with a dramatic weir, every summer there is an open air photographic exhibition with literally hundreds of full size photos installed on the walls and along the cobbled streets focusing on the environment of the world.
Voted “prettiest village in France” in 2015. With its cobbled streets, beautiful geraniums everywhere. The church with its abundance of stunning stained glass windows, amazing colours, it is a must see on your holiday agenda!
A stunning and picturesque port with hundred of boats to look at, with often exhibitions along the quayside.
A spectacular and large morning market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. One of the best in Brittany, wonderful wares and local produce, not to mention lots of stalls selling spectacular sunflowers amongst others.
Lac au Duc is a large stunning lake measuring 5.5km, with a sandy beach, lots to do here, kayaks, canoes, pedalos, water skiing, fishing, bar/restaurant, plenty of parking, fun for all the family!
Adjacent to the lake is the Golf Blue Green Lac au Duc Club, this is a little gem in Brittany, a very popular 9 hole golf course, measuring almost 3,000 metres with a par of 36.
