A Stunning Large Property That Is NEW To The Market!. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Drive up the leafy lane as you approach the stunning gated house of Chez Marie-Claude with fenced large garden. There is a terrace for al fresco evenings, and a spacious garden with plenty of room for children to run around and play.

A welcome hamper will be prepared for you to settle in and unwind on arrival. The extensive grounds are lovingly cared for to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity in a well-appointed area of central Brittany which is not too far from the beautiful town of Josselin, here you will find a medieval chateau, plenty of restaurants and bars to sit and relax.

From the entrance you proceed into a grand hallway with open stairs leading up to the open plan living area, the main lounge is particularly large - (an ideal space for all the family to relax together). This stunning room has windows on each side which lets in lots of light creating an amazing space. There is a fireplace with a wood burning stove, a large flat screen tv and many comfy sofas to relax in. There is also a dining table with 6 chairs situated in the lounge. The kitchen is also situated on this floor, it is well equipped and modern which opens into a dining area that has a table and 6 chairs. Leading from the kitchen there is a conservatory with a table and chairs, comfy seating, books and a balcony with views of the gardens. There is also a wc and a study on this floor.

On the ground floor there are 2 double bedrooms (1 with en suite facilities) leading off the ground floor corridor. There is a separate wc and washbasin, in addition to a family bathroom at the end of the corridor. The second bedroom is presented as a twin with 2 single beds. The third single bedroom is also situated on the ground floor.



Kitchen and dining

The modern kitchen is well equipped with a host of appliances (e.g. electric double oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, kettle, coffee-machine, etc.). A plentiful supply of crockery and tableware, with no shortage of cutlery and glassware to compliment.

The open plan dining area has a kitchen table and 6 dining chairs.

Washing machine can be found down stairs and complimentary laundry items are supplied.

Living rooms

Living room:
The stunning open plan lounge is super large with many windows to maintain a light and airy space. A choice of comfy sofas and chairs provide ample space for all the family to relax together. A mixture of contemporary and country style furniture tastefully complete the look of this spacious room.

Entertainment consists of a large tv (French channels only), dvd player (with plenty of dvd's), books and a selection of indoor boardgames.

From the kitchen there is an amazing space to sit and relax or dine and admire the views. The conservatory leads around to the front of the property and there is a secure door which leads to a balcony overlooking the front of the property. (Please be advised that children should not be left unattended on the balcony). The conservatory has plenty of comfy sofas and chairs to use. There is also a further dining table and 6 chairs.

There is also a study on the first floor.


In the main part of the house there are 2 sizeable double bedrooms. The master double bedroom offers a king size bed or 2 twin beds, bedside cabinet with lamps, dressing table, wardrobes and chest of drawers. It has en suite facilities; a 'his & hers' double wash handbasin, a bath with a shower mixer tap and heated towel rail. There is a woodburner in the bedroom and electric heaters for those cosy evenings!

The second double bedroom is presented as a twin room with 2 single beds. The bedroom has bedside cabinets with lamps, chest of drawers and a wardrobe allowing plenty of hanging space.

The third bedroom has a single bed, bedside cabinets with lamps and a wardrobe.


In addition to the master en suite facilities there is a family bathroom. This has a bath (with shower over), a separate shower cubicle, a wash handbasin and heated towel rail.

There is also a separate wc and wash handbasin on the ground floor, as well as on the upper floor.

Guests are supplied with a towel set consisting of bath towel, hand towel, and good quality bedding is provided. Beach towels are not supplied.


The cottage has 2 wood burning stoves (in the lounge/dining room and in the master bedroom). Electric heaters are also within each room.

Garden and outside

The Chez Marie-Claude stands within private grounds and has beautiful landscaped gardens. There are large lawned areas for the children to play safely (with a gate securing the property access).

Plenty of garden furniture and loungers are supplied to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet in a rural setting with wonderful views of the countryside. There is also gas bbq with tools and (full gas bottle provided for your convenience).

Parking and garages

There is ample space in the secure courtyard for off road parking at the property.

Local area:
Chez Marie-Claude is 4kms, just a 5 minute drive from the village of Mauron. Here you will find boulangeries, bars, banks, a restaurant and a supermarket.

A little further afield is the medieval town of Josselin with its imposing chateau perched high above the Nantes-Brest canal.

Ploermel is about 25 minutes away where there is a lake with water sports, a sandy beach and bars and restaurants.

About an hour away is Vannes. This is the administrative centre of Brittany. It is a beautiful medieval city with some lovely buildings and shops and plenty of restaurants, many based around the pretty harbourfront.

Another lovely medieval town worth visiting is Dinan, just under an hour away. There are cobbled streets, plenty of shops and numerous bars, cafés and restaurants.

The UNESCO Heritage Centre of Mont St Michel is within 1 ½ hours drive from the house.

Mauron town is only 4km away which has a number of good restaurants and bars.


Vannes is a wonderful city to go explore. It is 75km away and would take around 1 hours drive to get there.


Beautiful medieval city with a wonderful chateaux! There are lots of restaurants and bars to sit and relax in. This is only 36km away and takes 35 minutes to get there by car.

Mont St Michel

Well worth a visit! It is 103 km away and will take approximately 1 hour 25 minutes by car to get there.

Beach at Erquy

The nearest beach is at Erquy and is 83 km away and will take around 1 hours drive by car.
