About this property

Charming Gite in the Rural Heart of Brittany. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

La Maison des Cerisiers is part of a converted stone house situated in the heart of rural Brittany. The gite is situated in the tranquil hamlet of Brenugat and close to the quirky village of Lizio. It is adjacent to La Maison des Pommes. Lizio is a small rural municipality in the canton of Malestroit. Surprisingly for a small village, there are 3 museums in and around Lizio. These include the Poete Ferrailleur, with fabulous animatronics – an old ironworks museum, Musee de vieux metiers, a step into Brittany in the past and and the Insectarium (Insect Museum).

In August the village holds its traditional Festival of Artisans, an art and model show. More than 150 craftsmen and artists are present to display their work and show their skills to the public. Also over 40 model exhibitors present their finely crafted and detailed models. Traditional Breton music and dance is also performed in the centre of the village. The village also has a bar, restaurant, baguette machine, children’s play area and several small lakes with walks.

The owners of the property have retained the traditional style of the gite. This includes exposed beams and stunning original kitchen tiles made by local potter Alain Guillard. La Maison des Cerisiers sleeps 4 and has it’s own private, secured garden. There is also access to a further large grassed area, ideal for children. This is shared with La Maison des Pommes. The adjacent gites can be booked together offering spacious accommodation for up to 8 guests. Wi-fi is available throughout the gite.
Well behaved dogs (up to 2) are allowed prior to agreement by the owner at the time of booking. Pet fee applied. The owner lives in the hamlet and has a wealth of information on the local area.
The owner provides a welcome pack for new arrivals.
