About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Joanne Aylett

My husband and I purchased the property over 10 years ago to renovate, we have had many family holidays in France and fell in love with the lifestyle. The house over the years has been a labour of love with many challenges (most notably the language). I have since improved, so I tell myself.

Year property purchased 2008
Why this location? Le Vaubrien is a quiet rural hamlet, but within easy distance to many attractions. Nearby Josselin boasts a medieval castle at the side of the Nantes-Brest canal which creates a stunning setting. There are many restaurants serving the typical Bretagne Galettes and crepes which is a must. At the weekly market, the town is buzzing with the locals and tourists buying local products. You can also hire a boat and master the canal lock system.
Ploermel has a lakeside beach where you can try waterskiing or hire a pedalo. The lake boasts a golf course and a children's park. Within the area are many attractions from Kingoland theme park to historic abbeys. The stunning sandy beaches are a 45min drive.
Unique benefits of property The house is a typical Bretagne property which dates back to 1724. It is set in a rural tranquil setting, with horses, goats, pigs, chickens and even a llama in the adjacent field. The birdsong in the mornings is a musical orchestra, especially while sampling the local bakery's croissants alfresco. The house has three bedrooms with an ensuite to the master and sleeps 6. It has a lounge, kitchen, downstairs WC and utility room. There is plenty of outdoor seating areas which are fully decked.
